Imagine: Being almost home to Dean and your son before your father sends you information for another hunt, even though you and Dean both promised to give up the life

**************************************

I drove in my car, sighing from exhaustion as I listened to light music. I couldn't wait to get home and see Dean and our son, since I haven't seen them in a week. But the phone call I had received changed it all.

"Yeah?" I said to my caller.

"Y/N, it's me," Dad said, and I sighed, knowing what was coming. "I just texted you info for a case in Idaho. Meet me there tomorrow?"

"Dad, I can't," I said, shaking my head. "I'm going the opposite direction. Besides, I gotta get home. I haven't seen Marcus in a week."

"Marcus is gonna have to wait another week then," Dad said, getting angry already. "I'm not gonna tell you again. People are dying. You meet me in Idaho by tomorrow, you understand?"

"..Yes, sir," I said, hanging up.

I got so mad, my eyes flooded with rage-filled tears. I called Dean.

"Hey," He said over the phone. "What's going on? Where you been?"

"I uh, I got caught up in work," I said, partially lying. "Put Marcus on the phone, would you?"

"Yeah, Marcus!" I heard in the distance, and I couldn't help but grin. "Here he is."

"Hey, Mom," Marcus said, and I chuckled. "Where are you?"

"Uh, not too far," I said. "Listen, kiddo. I got some stuff to figure out with work, and I won't be home for a little bit longer."

"Oh, ok," He said, getting a little sad. "That's ok. You'll be home in time for my next basketball game, right?"

"..Yeah," I said, not sure if it was a lie. "I'm so sorry, baby. Make sure to tell your dad, ok?"

"Ok," He said. "Bye, Mom."

"Bye," I said, and he hung up.

A tear fell down my face, but I wiped it away. I sighed once again as I turned sharply, and I started back on a journey toward Idaho.
