Malakai's POV
I'm not doing a freaking intro. I'm sure my sister covered most of it. I'm scared of loud noises. I don't know if she said that.

"My family means the world to me. If you crush anyone's heart...I'll crush you."

"Got it."

I looked at my phone and saw what time it was.

"I gotta go. She should be getting out of group by now."

"Group?"

"Yeah. They go around and talk about what happened to them or something." I said as I shrugged.

"Is there anything you want me to tell her?"

"I-I don't know."

"Give me your number. I'll see if she'd like to call her."

"W-when do you think, she'll go home?"

"No idea. A few days. A few weeks. A few months. It depends honestly."

I handed him my phone.

"I'm serious. Give me your number. I'll let you know how she is."

He put his number in my phone.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow."

I walked to my mom's car. I got in.

"Hey mom."

"How was your day?"

"Eh. Have you talked to MJ?"

"No. She hasn't called today."

"Oh. How's dad?"

"He's being Onyx. He left work early."

"Is he eating?"

"Yeah. He's also locked himself in our room. I hid everything sharp."

"You put everything under my bed again, didn't you?"

"No. I actually didn't. I dropped Roxie off at home before, I got you."

When we got home, I went to check on my dad. I knocked on his bedroom door.

"Hey dad? You good?"

He didn't answer.

"Dad? Hello? Earth to Onyx?"

The door opened. My dad looked broken.

"Jesus. You look like shit."

"Yeah. I know."

He rubbed his left eye.

"Have you talked to her?"

"Yeah. I just got off the phone with her."

"How is she?"

"She's lying about being okay. I could hear it."

"When do you think, she can come home?"

He shrugged.

"Honestly...I've got no idea. I told her to call you in a bit. She won't be able to talk for long."

"Oh that's fine. She's probably gonna be sleeping soon right?"

"She's not sleeping well. She also sounded exhausted."

"Can I go see her?"

He sighed.

"I've got no idea. I can ask if you want."

I shook my head.

"It might cause a problem. She doesn't need that. I seriously can't deck him?"

"Not unless, he hits you first."

Fuck.

"Oh I should tell you this. Someone at school likes Mari."

"Oh god. Now I really feel old."

"Dad you're 30."

"I still feel old."

"Okay well...are you okay?"

"Uhh. Not really. This is killing me."

"I-I know. This is killing me too. This is killing you more though."

He walked out of his room.

"Where are you going?"

"I dunno anymore."

Don't go to the bar.

God no.

I know you don't drink but.....

Please don't self medicate.

"Don't do anything stupid."

"You sound like your mother."

"Dad..."

"J-just leave me alone. I'll be using the punching bag."

"A-alright. Are you taking your meds?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. I'm talking to my therapist tomorrow."

He walked away.

"I'll see you later."
