Raven's POV
"I don't lie to people. Did something happen? You look upset."

"I-it's nothing. Just some girls being cruel."

"What'd they say?"

"Nothing. I-it's fine."

I noticed she had a bruise on her shoulder.

"Did someone hit you?"

She covered her shoulder with her hair.

"It was an accident."

Her brother sat down next to her.

"Who hit you?"

"Oh god. Not you too. I'm fine."

"Mom's gonna see right through that lie."

"I don't think she will."

"Mari...she literally KNOWS when dad's faking shit."

"True. Listen. I swear I'm fine."

"What happened?"

"A frisbee hit me."

Malakai pinched his nose bridge.

"What's the two things, dad's told us?"

"Always defend yourself. Don't hit first."

"Why didn't you do that?"

"He ALSO said, to try not to get into fights like he did. He's punched a lot of people."

"Marionette look at me and tell me you're fine."

She shook her head.

"Is it a guy? Can I hit someone?"

"No. Can we just drop this?"

"Uhhhh. No?"

"Fine, fine. Kai what do you think happened?"

"Did you get-"

"Mhm."

"By who?"

"I can't tell you."

"Oh no. No no no. Not this shit again. Dad told you to, not keep this shit to yourself."

"I can't say. He knows what happened to me. I-I don't want it to, happen again. Please drop this. I'll be fine."

"If you get pregnant I swear to god I'll-"

"Malakai please stop."

"Why?"

"Because he's your fuckin friend!"

Malakai's eyes widened.

"H-Harry?!"

She didn't respond.

"I can't tell you. I'll hurt you."

"MJ the fact one of my friends did this to you, just hurts. I-I have to know who."

"Larry. There. I said it. Ya happy?"

"I-I-I-...call dad."

"No."

"Call mom."

"No."

Malakai stood up.

"Please don't say anything!"

"If you won't say it then, I will."

"What's going on? What happened?"

"I-I don't wanna tell you. I'm sorry."

"Show me your wrist."

"Why?"

"Just do it."

She held out her wrist. I saw cuts.

"What?! When did you do this?!"

"Right after it happened. His friends were in on it. They took turns."

"I'm fuckin calling dad."

"Fine. I give up. I won't fight you on it."

"I'm baker acting your ass."

"Please don't. It didn't work for dad. It probably won't work for me."

"Mari you don't know that. Dad's dad. You're you. You don't know if, it won't work."

After that, I didn't see Marionette the next day. I looked around school looking for Malakai. I found him and ran up to him.

"Dude what's going on with your sister?"

"She's depressed man."

"Did she tell you everything?"

"Yep. I know every detail. She told me I could tell you since, she's scared to see how you'd react."

Oh god...

It's that bad???

I gulped.

"She got raped dude."

"Huh?! No! You're lying!"

"I really wish I was. We don't lie about shit like this in my family. My dad took her to the hospital. His DNA was all over her. I already confronted him about this. He didn't deny it but, he also didn't say it wasn't him."

"Did you hit him or anything?"

He shook his head.

"Nope. My dad told me to stand down so, that's what I'm gonna do."

"Bro come on. He assaulted your sister."

He slammed his locker shut.

"I-is she home?"

"No. No offense but, why on earth do you care?"

"I-I really like your sister."

His eyes widened.

Uh oh.

I started backing away. He grabbed my arm.

"If I find out, you did ANYTHING to hurt her...so help me god...I'll knock your ass into next year."

I gulped.

"Dude who's your dad?"

"Onyx Jericho. Ever heard of him?"

"I-I actually haven't."

"Damn. That's a surprise. I assumed everyone knows him. Anyway...I can let you know when, she's home. Just to warn you, she's scared of men now."

"S-she is?"

"Yep. She's even scared of me. She's close with our dad so, she trusts him. Don't get offended or upset if, she doesn't want to see you. If she lets you in, you better keep every goddamn secret she has."

"Why would I expose her?"

"I don't know. You have plenty of friends. One thing can be said and, it's a bloody headline forever."
