Chapter 6: The Imminence

I CLUTCHED MY fists as I tried to calm myself.

I was riding on the limousine that was moving swiftly towards the Greenvest Forest. Ace and Chase were with me, and I could feel the rising tension inside the vehicle. Softly puffing out air, my eyes darted at the latter who was now taking the situation seriously.

Well, he should be. This will be our first time joining the team in a mission, and I couldn't help but feel nervous.

A black hole appeared in that area, revealing Sev who was breathing heavily.

"I've located a spot in the forest, but I didn't find them. They must have still been kilometers away, pero hali na kayo. We can't waste time," he informed us amidst his pants.

Sev could only teleport himself to a place where he had once seen and gone.

"Be careful, agents. The general and deputy are guiding you from above."

Rory's voice echoed in the vehicle. That was our signal to proceed to the location. This was also my first time stepping into the weird black hole, so I gathered all my strength to move my feet. With eyes closed, I felt myself giving in to the hole.

I was in awe for a second, not until I felt something strange coming from behind.

"We've got company!"

On his hand was a thick log that he got from God knows where!

Surprisingly, a rogue appeared before us. It was still meters away from us a while ago, yet in a split-second, it transported in front of us. How the heck did that happened?

I thought that was it, pero naging sunod-sunod na ang pagdating ng ibang kalaban. I could hear growls everywhere, and that was when I knew that we were surrounded.

Now, how are we going to defeat these creatures?

Moments later, a familiar sensation wrapped my body. The wind halted and the eerie silence of the forest lingered in my senses. I could still hear the rogues' growls, but I definitely knew that time had stopped.

"Oh, shoot!"

Napatingin kami kina Sev at Ace na lumitaw sa aming gilid. I was somehow relieved by their presence. What took them so long?

"One, two, three, four—okay, more than a dozen!" Sev exclaimed and smirked. "I've waited long for this."

His body was immediately wrapped in blue mists. He held his opened palms high, and a glowing ball of blue energy gradually appeared on it. Immediately, I felt goosebumps when a surging power was released from his body.
