Chapter 31: One Last Time

Taeyong sobbed in Jaehyun's arms as he closed his eyes and laid limp in his arms.

 " You shouldn't be crying on your wedding day. Especially for another person" Jaehyun wiped Taeyong's tears away with his thumb and travelled down onto his lips, giving it a soft nudge. "Smile, I'm so happy for you"

Taeyong missed this Jaehyun. The Jaehyun that would hold him in his arms and make him feel like everything would be alright. The Jaehyun that warmly smiled at him and whisper him tender words of love. The Jaehyun that softly placed his lips on his and brought him heaven to earth. 

"Jaehyun..." Taeyong whispered. "Can you kiss me one last time?" 

Jaehyun nodded as he slowly leaned in and softly placed his lips on Taeyong's. Sparks travelled through his whole body as Jaehyun's lips embraced his. He felt memories flooding back in from his first kiss with Jaehyun to his last kiss with him now. Tears travelled down Taeyong's cheek as they landed onto Jaehyun's lips and down the black suit. 

Jaehyun held Taeyong tight as he wanted to hold on as much as he could. He wanted this kiss to last forever because who knows when he will ever get to feel the same fire burn in his heart? Who knows when he will ever get to feel the same soft lips on his?

He deepened the kiss as he let his feelings flow one last time and slowly pulled away.

"I guess..." Jaehyun whispered, tears slipping down his cheek. 

He took a deep breath as he held Taeyong's hand and gave it a squeeze. Reaching for his pocket, he pulled out a familiar butterfly bracelet and fastened the clasp onto Taeyong's wrist.

 "...this is the end of our story" Jaehyun smiled through his tears as he held Taeyong's hand.  

Jaehyun knew that it was time...

It was time for him to let go.

Letting go of a thing that he had held onto with wistful hope. He didn't care if he got hurt. He didn't care if he had to let go of a person he loved once again.

Because through all the waves of feelings that tried to drown him, Taeyong showed him how to love again... And that was enough for Jaehyun to smile through his tears.

As much as Jaehyun wanted it to end in a different way, he knew this was the right one. He knew that he had to go. 

He hadn't told Taeyong or Yuta yet but he planned to move somewhere far...

Somewhere far away where he wouldn't interfere between them ever again. 

So for one last time, he held Taeyong in his arms as he closed his eyes and let the feelings embrace him.

"Remember what I said? Who knows what could happen in the future? Even though our love isn't written in the stars this time, next time it could be..." 

"But until then, I will always love you and I will always be waiting till the day that our fate will bring us together...again"
