Jaehyun couldn't sleep the whole night as he lied down on the cold hard balcony floor while his conscience fought relentlessly in his mind.
Hours passed by as a light drizzle started to fall. He didn't care. He lied there soaking in rain as he wished that it would also wash his thoughts away. He only got up when he remembered the promise he made to Taeyong that he would be there when he woke up. Staggering his way into the shower, he dried himself off with the last towel on the shelf and changed into hoodies and sweats.
He slipped under the sheets with Taeyong and looked at him longingly as the night light dimly shone at the corner of the room. He softly caressed Taeyong's cheeks and gave him a peck on his lips. Holding Taeyong's hand, he closed his eyes and let his emotions smother him to unconsciousness.
Jaehyun felt the morning sun peeking through his eyelids and groaned in discomfort. His eyes felt sore and chills lingered inside him. Reaching out for Taeyong, he only felt the soft bedsheets as he frantically sat up to see the empty space beside him.
"Taeyong?" Jaehyun looked around.
Emotions started rising in him as he got out of bed and stumbled down the stairs.
"Taeyong??" Fear started evoking in Jaehyun as he began to panic.
He made his way into the kitchen and felt his stammering heart calm down when he saw Taeyong flipping pancakes.
"Taeyong" Jaehyun sighed in relief as he sat down on a chair. "Since when did you wake up?"
"About half an hour ago" Taeyong said with a cheery tone while stacking the last pancake on the plate. " I just wanted to make you something"
He placed the plate of pancakes infront of Jaehyun along with a glass of milk.
"Remember the time I slept over and you made pancakes for me after your morning run? The orange juice and milk?" Flashes of memories burned through Jaehyun's mind as he gingerly nodded.
"Well I just wanted to make something for you back" Taeyong smiled at the memory as he sat down on the seat infront of Jaehyun. "Hope you like it!"
Jaehyun stared at the stack of fluffy pancakes infront of him and felt his heart ache. He glanced up at Taeyong to see him smiling and nodding at the pancakes, gesturing him to take a bite out of it.
"It's delicious" Jaehyun nodded after he took a bite out of it and sipped on the milk. As delicious as it was, Jaehyun didn't feel like eating anything. But for Taeyong, he would as he sat there nibbling on the pancakes.
