Chapter 1: I Should Have Known

Taeyong should have known it from the start. He should have known that Mr. Jung was nothing but trouble. 

All the lingering glances, the teasing touches, and the sly smiles. 

It was a carnal sin.

He should have avoided it from the start. 

But he didn't.

The shimmering chandelier above Taeyong reflected golden streaks as it casted dappled shadows upon Mr. Jung's face. Taeyong could make out his stoic look as he nervously held Yuta's hand under the table and felt Yuta rubbing in comfortingly. Mr. Jung glanced at both of them and slowly sipped on the chardonnay wine. 

Taeyong met Yuta when he was in university and started dating him after the encounter he had as partners with him in a project. They quickly warmed up to each other after it and so far, it had been sailing smoothly. Besides, surviving the 4 years of university together just made them stronger.

 As for Mr. Jung, Taeyong had visited Yuta's house once in a while during his university years so he had met him before but it was more of an accidentally bumping into each other greetings rather than formal ones and they never went further than that. But after they had graduated, Yuta decided that he wanted to take things to another step and formally introduce Taeyong to his dad so he arranged a dinner for them.  

So here Taeyong is, in a luxurious restaurant that he had never been to before, sitting in front of his possible future father-in-law. 

Don't get Taeyong wrong, he had seen Mr. Jung before and had conversations with him too and even though he found him mildly attractive, he only thought of him as a cool dad and nothing more.

 But today was different. Mr. Jung was dressed and styled in a more fashionable and modern outfit. At first glance, Taeyong wouldn't have even thought that it was Yuta's dad. He looked more like his brother. His tall stature was accompanied by a buff body and a pair muscular arms. He had soft yet masculine features with his raven black hair parted at the sides. Taeyong felt his throat dry up as he noticed the veins on his hands. 

"So how long have you been dating Yuta" Mr. Jung asked as he set his wine glass down and looked at Taeyong.

"About 4 and a half years already" 

He could see Mr. Jung raising his eyebrows as he looked at Yuta.
