(Y/N) POV
Cassy called me into a private space. Did she know the people that I brought to protect this place?
Her dark hair was silky, a clear indicator that she had been using soap alongside warm water.
Before we never had both of them. Usually only cold river water. And I always forget to buy more soap while we are in town.
"What's up?" I ask her as we walk away from the house.
Cassy look conflicted as she began to talk
"I...I'm not sure if I want to leave this place," she says looking at me
"I really like Jacob and Rebecca. But I know that your mission needs me to be involved," she finishes.
"Just thought that whatever you say may make my mind up," she tells me.
"Well...if you want to stay that's fine...but I would really like you to continue traveling with me," I tell her
"Yeah...I figured," she says as I hold my hand up.
"But, if you really don't want to leave Jacob and Rebecca...we can take them with us," I say as her eyes light up
"Really?" She asks
"Yeah, that's an option..but it puts them in whatever danger we are in. Relatively speaking, it'll be much safer here then anywhere else," I say as her expression darkens
"Yeah, that make sense," she says
"Option is up to you," I say as she nods.
I return to the house as Cassy thinks. I can tell whatever dilemma she is facing is a decision that she doesn't want to make.
"Dinner is almost ready," Rosie says
"Thanks," I say as I look into the dining hall. Dozens of kids were gathering for a meal.
"Didn't realize there were so many kids," I say as I notice her nod.
"Yeah, there's a few that's for sure. The extra guards will be great help even if they aren't protecting the place," she says as I see the group I brought in talking with the kids.
James seemed to be the leader of the kids, he was talking with Jason.
"Are they getting along?" I ask Rosie
"I think so, hopefully with that group of smugglers gone, we finally can see a return to being a real orphanage. Hopefully families arrive and adopt the kids," she says.
"Yeah, that would be great," I say as my eyes land on James
"How old is James?" I ask
"I think he is coming up on 16," she says
"What happens after that?"
"Well, normally the kids leave to live in a village. But the door is always open if they want to return...James...I can't see him leaving. He cares too much about us," Rosie says
"Yeah, that makes sense," I say as she smiles
"He's a kind boy," she says
"He seems to care about everyone," I tell her as she nods
"Yeah, he does that," she says as she turns off the stove.
"It is ready," she says.
Cassy comes into the house with the same look she had when I had left her outside. Still thinking I guess.
"Cassy!" A pair of kids yell as they tackle her legs. Sure enough, Jacob and Rebecca are the culprits
"they like her," I comment as Rosie laughs
"They are inseparable," she tells me as I chuckle.
"Gotcha," I mutter.
Having Cassy assist me in my mission will be extremely helpful. Furthermore, I also have what the One tailed beast asked me to do. However, are those two things more important then what she wants?
Clearly she wants to stay here with Jacob and Rebecca. But, I think we both know that she will not have a peaceful life, the Zetsu are out there somewhere...and they will come after her.
Perhaps, the safest option that doesn't require splitting them apart is taking them with us. But danger isn't the only thing that may be a issue. Kids need friends, if we are moving around too much they won't get those experiences.
Cassy is faced with an extremely hard decision.
Dinner goes by and she retires to her room.
"Hey Mister," I hear Rebecca says as I turn to her.
"What's up?" I ask her as she looks a little worried
"Are you gonna take Cassy away?" She asks
"I don't know, it depends," I answer honestly.
"If Cassy comes with me...would you be interested in following us?" I ask her
"I want to be with Cassy, no matter what," she says
"And why is that?" I ask curiously as she blushes.
"She's...like our Mama...she is pretty and nice. I think Jacob wants her to be our new Mom...but I'm unsure," she tells me as I smile
"I think you have the same feelings," I say
"Yeah," she admits.
"Well, let's wait for tomorrow," I say as she nods.
"Deal," she says
The Next Day
Cassy woke up with Rebecca and Jacob in her bed like usual...or at least that's what I've been told.
"So?" I ask her when she walks outside.
"I think I'm going to go with you," she says as I nod
"Get your things packed," I tell her. Her expression was still conflicted.
As soon as Cassy went back inside, Rebecca and Jacob appear from hiding
"So are we going too?" They ask.
"It's not nice to listen into other peoples conversations," I tell them.
"But yes, if you two want to come with us, you can," I say as they rush into the house.
I waited outside because I didn't have anything to pack up inside.
Cassy, Rebecca, and Jacob all come out of the house at the same time, with smiles on their faces.
