Minato POV
I start to return to Kushina and our newborn son, Naruto.
I'm a father now...nothing bad happened...it all went to plan.
My mind wants to wander to Obito...and how my former student survived death. But right now, all that's on my mind is Naruto.
"Kushina, I'm back!" I say as I approach the room.
"It burns!" I hear a lady scream as I rush to the room.
As I reach it, I see Naruto covered in an orange-like chakra field...what is that!
My eyes trace to Kushina as her face is pale...
"What's happening?" I ask as the nurse scramble
"Minato...the Fox...The fox," she says as her voice gets weaker and weaker
"What about the fox!" I ask as I rush to her and Naruto.
"The fox was transferred to Naruto...the baby can't control it!" A nurse says as my eyes snap to my son.
The chakra was raging around him, a nurse stands with her hand severely burned.
What to do!
"No jinchuriki has survived a tailed beast from being extracted from them," the lead nurse says.
"That means," I look at Kushina as she looks concerned for Naruto
"Help him first...he's in pain," she says her voice extremely soft
Ok, the nine tails chakra is leaking from him... which means I need to seal it away inside him.
I remember some of the Jutsu Kushina taught me.
My memory remembers the eight trigrams sealing style, and then I get to work.
(Y/N) POV
I stood in the doorway. My eyes open in shock
"No jinchuriki has survived a tailed beast from being extracted from them," repeats in my head over and over again.
I see Kushina looking at her baby with adoring eyes as Minato performs a Justus on him to control the power chakra oozing from him.
Kushina is getting weaker...Kushina is gonna die.
I feel tears swell up in my eyes as I think.
Kushina is gonna die.
She'll leave us behind.
And she'll ascend to the heavens...where she belongs
Her eyes value every second they can see Naruto.
He will be without a mother.
She'll never see her son grow up.
Why is that so damn sad!
Why is this happening!
Why
I look at the nurses as they look helpless.
I can't do anything
"Kushina...you can't leave," I stutter out in the chaos.
Her eyes shift to me, and her mouth curls up
"Take care of my boys," her smile breaks me.
"No!" I yell as my eyes feel like they explode.
I scream from the pain, and then darkness consumes me
I've failed. I feel my consciousness slipping away
I made a promise that I wouldn't let anything happen to her
But I failed
Darkness is all I can see.
The colour of failure is black.
I feel my back on a bed as I wake up.
I try to open my eyes, but all I see is black.
"Your awake," someone says
"Yeah...," I say silently...
She's dead.
Kushina is dead.
Even though she didn't love me back.
I loved her with all my heart.
And she's gone now.
"What happened?" I ask
"I don't know, Lord Fourth rushed you over here a couple of days ago," she tells me
"Ah, a couple of days ago," I mutter. I've been asleep for a while
"Yes...your eyes," she begins
"I can't see," I interrupt her
"Yeah...they are...hurt," she says trying to make it sound less bad than it is.
"I thought," I mutter. Fitting for a failure.
I sigh
"It'll be ok," she says as I shake my head
"I'm anything but ok,"
