"A barista. It pays like... 36 bucks an hour I think. Apparently since I got a scholarship and I showed them it, they give you like a huge starting salary. But the school also gives me money every month since I got a scholarship." I explained.
"Oh nice, how much does the school give you each month?" Ma asked. "Somewhere between $800-$1,000. I'm not entirely sure." I explained. "Ok, so you'll be set then." Mom chuckled.
"What's the rent on this place?" Ma asked. "$850. I'm gonna use the money the school gives me to pay for rent, then I'll use the money from my job for everything else. Whatever is left from the money the school gives me, if there's anything left, will go into a savings account." I explained.
"Smart girl." They laughed. "I'm a finance major, I better be good with my money." I laughed. We went out and got some food. "Where should we go?" I asked.
"Where do you wanna go?" Ma asked "Not sure, let's just drive around, see what there is around here. I wanna get familiar with the area a bit." I said. We drove around and just got some sandwiches from this sandwich shop. "I forgot that LA is like a crazy healthy area." I laughed as we sat in my car, eating.
"We're excited for you, sweetheart." Mom smiled. "I'm excited to live here. Excited to see what life's gonna throw at me here." I chuckled.
I drove my moms to their hotel, then I drove back to my apartment. My first night in it.
I took a shower and got ready for bed. Then next morning, I drove my moms back to the airport. Once I left, I went back to my apartment.
I cleaned some stuff up and then I just hung out. I start my first shift tomorrow at the coffee shop. I can't wait.
