Chapter 20: Spree

Taeyong instantly grabbed the bracelets as he quickly paid for it and shoved it in his pocket to hide it from Jaehyun.

"Done Mr. Jung"

"Come on let's go" Jaehyun hurried as Taeyong followed from behind. 

"What's the hurry??"

"You'll see it when we get there" 

Jaehyun led the way as Taeyong eventually found himself getting near to the jungle at the entrance. 

"Here, this way" Jaehyun pointed at the path lined with cobblestones. The sun was beginning to set and Taeyong could barely make out where he was apart from the silhouette casted by the sunset. 

"Jaehyun, it's getting dark. I don't think we should go there" 

"Trust me Taeyong. Just follow me ok?" Jaehyun gave Taeyong an affirming smile as he grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Taeyong just gave in and followed Jaehyun as they passed through the field of chirping crickets and the dense trees. The sound of the waterfall drowned out all the surrounding noises as Jaehyun and Taeyong arrived at a wooden bridge above a pond. 

Taeyong looked around in confusion as the only thing he could see was darkness and a few shadowy outline. 

"Really Jaehyun? In the dark? You brought me here for this?" 

Jaehyun looked down at his watch intensely as he didn't reply back. 

"No Taeyong" Jaehyun grinned as he looked up from his watch. "I brought you here... for this"

The whole forest instantly lit up as everything came into view. The luscious green plants, the colorful wild flowers, the shimmering blue pond and a smiling Jaehyun. Taeyong's mouth dropped open as he watched the beautiful scenery unfold infront of his eyes. The lighting wasn't too bright nor too dim, just the perfect amount to create a warm ambience. 

"Wait what? How did you know?" Taeyong looked around in awe "I thought you have never been here before"

"You should know me by now" Jaehyun chuckled. " I always want the best for you"

Taeyong looked at Jaehyun to see him smiling widely. Like a genuine smile filled with happiness. Taeyong moved around as he heard a jingle in his pocket and halted.

"Do you know why it took me a while in that shop?" Taeyong asked as pulled out the bracelets. "It's because of this"

Taeyong undid the bracelet as he grabbed Jaehyun's hand and and clasped it on his wrist. 

"I know it's nothing that fancy" Taeyong shyly said as he wore his own bracelet. "But I hope you like it"

Jaehyun stared at the bracelet and blanked out for a second before emotions started rushing into him like a river. No one had ever given him any sentimental item before. He looked at Taeyong as he felt a wave of euphoria wash over him. Tears started to well up in his eyes as he pulled Taeyong in for a hug. 

"I love it. Thank you so much Taeyong" He whispered as he pulled away, trying to keep his tears in. He looked at Taeyong in the eyes and leaned in to softly place his lips on his. 

The bracelets clashed into each other as they jingled and created a ringing sound that resonated throughout the forest. The purple butterflies dangled in the air, creating an illusion of them flying together.

When two butterflies are seen flying together, it represents undying love. A love so strong that it couldn't be undone. A love too deep that it couldn't be saved.

A love where one holds onto even though the other had flown away.
