Chapter 18: Compliments

So Jaehyun had managed to bake and carry three cakes by himself for the past many years but not this time? He snapped out of his daze quickly when he saw Taeil looking at him suspiciously and asked a random question to divert the attention.

"So umm how's Jaehyun as boss? Does he treat you guys well?"

"Well he's a role model boss. Hard working, appreciative, upright and a man with dignity" Taeil nodded. " Although, he keeps work and personal life separate so I can't say too much about how he's like out of work"

A question popped up in Taeyong's mind as his curiosity got the better of him. He wanted to know more about Jaehyun and who's better than a person that had worked with him for decades.

 " Do you know if he has a partner? Or like has he ever talked about his love life to you"

"Well I don't know too much about it but he got drunk one time at a hangout and told us about a girl that he fell in love with in college and how she left him and went back to Japan? I only remember him saying how he'll never fall in love again and I guess he's true to his words. Never seen him bringing another person to work apart from Yuta. In fact, you're the first ever person that he brought"  

Taeil sighed, nodding his head sympathetically.

"So what about you? Are you single?" 

"oh I umm-"

"Of course you're not. You're too good looking to not have someone" Taeil laughed. 

"Well I-" Taeyong blushed as he shyly rubbed his nape. 

"You look so good in that outfit too. Makes you look youthful and endearing. Very adorable" Taeil bashfully complimented.

"Thank you-"

"Yes he does look good in that suit" An abrupt voice intervened as Taeyong's head snapped back.  " Very adorable"

There Jaehyun stood with two plates of cake in his hands. A nonchalant expression on his face and his sharp eyes fixated on Taeyong. 

"I brought a slice of mousse cake for you" Jaehyun handed Taeyong the plate as he sat down beside him. 

"Oh I gotta go now. Doyoung is calling me to play a round of trivia with him" Taeil excused himself as he left Taeyong all alone with Jaehyun.

Taeyong felt his body tense up as he glanced at Jaehyun to see him gazing back at him. He hesitantly scooped a spoonful of mousse and let the sweet chocolate melt in his mouth while he maintained the eye contact with Jaehyun.

"I thought you said we weren't supposed to have prolonged eye contacts" Taeyong joked to lighten up Jaehyun but he was met with the raise of an eyebrow. 

"How was Taeil, did you have fun with him?"

"He was nice to me and we had a great talk" 

"What was he saying about your outfit?"

"It was just a compliment. He told me that I look good in it"

"Very adorable huh?" Jaehyun smirked.

He finished the cake, wiped his mouth and stood up, brushing off the crumbs on his coat.

"Can you follow me to the office for a while? I want to talk with you about something" 

Taeyong could just nod as he stood up and walked with Jaehyun into his office. The moment he stepped in, he heard the door lock click as Jaehyun cleared his throat. 

"Taeil was right, you look great in that suit" Jaehyun walked closer to Taeyong, caging him against his desk. 

"But do you know what you look better in?"

Jaehyun leaned in as Taeyong closed his eyes and gripped the edge of the table.

" When you're wearing nothing"

"You look better when you're naked"
