Chapter 18: Compliments

The whole room erupted into cheers as adult men in suits eagerly hurried towards Jaehyun and peeked into the boxes to see what flavor was inside.

"I baked them yesterday along with my helper here" Jaehyun nodded at Taeyong

"Everyone, this is Taeyong. He's my son's... dear friend and I brought him today to let him experience a day at the workplace"

Taeyong thought that he misheard Jaehyun and turned back to look at him puzzlingly, wondering why Jaehyun introduced him only as Yuta's....friend? Taeyong didn't get enough time to process the information as he was bombarded with greetings, questions and compliments.

"Hey Taeyong"

"Sup man"

"Nice to meet you"

" You look good"

"Thank you for helping Jaehyun bake the cake!"

Taeyong just shyly nodded and smiled back at them as he introduced himself and felt the previous stress in him alleviate little by little. After he was done, he glanced back to see Jaehyun giving him a slight smile.

"Alright, I need to be in my office for an important business call so I want everyone to keep the noise down."

Jaehyun glanced at Taeyong to see if he was ok with it and smiled when Taeyong nodded back at him. 

 "That said, have fun and enjoy the cakes " Jaehyun beamed as he strode into his office. 

Taeil took out all three of the cakes as others started arranging the plates and cutleries. They left a piece of each cake for Jaehyun first and then started digging in. 

"Which one would you like?" Taeil asked as Taeyong was dithering nervously behind him.

"Umm the New York raspberry cheese cake one please" Taeyong said as Taeil sliced a piece for him. 

"Excellent choice" Taeil complimented. "Cheese cake is a personal favorite of mine. Especially when Jaehyun bakes it. He loves to spoil us with treats once every few months and they're usually three different cakes"

"Wait, he has done this before?" 

"Yep. Since the very first year that I worked here"

Taeyong furrowed his eyebrows at Taeil's words as he nibbled on the cheesecake. His slight frown slowly turned into a smile as he realized that he had fallen into Jaehyun's trap again.
