Chapter 9: Nothing

Start from the beginning

Taeyong tried to stop him, he tried to say no, but the words wouldn't leave his mouth as he continued coughing on the wine remnants. The cough slowly died down and Taeyong felt the dread pooling up. He didn't even dare to glance up at the fear of seeing Jaehyun.

"Are you feeling better now?"

Taeyong froze at the sound and gulped. He didn't know what to say so he slowly nodded, still not looking up and just stared at his plate.

"Taeyong"

Jaehyun approached. His voice softer than how he usually spoke. Taeyong felt his heart thumping wildly and unconsciously looked up. He saw Jaehyun's rigid face soften at his glance.

"Can we talk?" Jaehyun asked, desperation concealed with a hard tone.

Taeyong prayed for Yuta to come back as quick as he could. He couldn't handle a conversation with Jaehyun without stuttering or acting so obviously affected. He tried his best to muster up the words as he looked down to avoid Jaehyun's gaze.

"Why?" He softly mumbled.

Jaehyun sighed " Taeyong we-"

"We- we don't need to talk about it"

Jaehyun looked at Taeyong firmly in the eyes as he took a sharp breath and raised his eyebrow.

"We don't?" Tone changed to a harsher one.

Taeyong nervously nodded.

"I see" Jaehyun spoke.

Even though they were just words, Taeyong could feel the fire in it burning him down. Jaehyun's face became stoic as he poked his tongue to the side of his cheek. His gaze hardened as he looked away from Taeyong and greedily gulped the wine down.

Yuta thankfully came back as he handed Taeyong the towel and excitedly sat down.

"What did I miss?"

"We t-"

"Nothing" Jaehyun spoke before Taeyong could start his sentence.

"Nothing happened"

Sorry for the late update 😅. I promise that I'll go on a schedule from now on and update once every 4-5 days. Also, loved BigBang's comeback. The song was so emotional and I feel so happy to see them again😭. Besides that, I also love Ive's comeback. Love dive is so ethereal and heavenly. Probably one of my fav from the rookies.
