Chapter 40, Learning To Box
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" How was I supposed to know how to stop and start!? You said go! "
~ Scarlett's POV ~
"Stop complaining and wear it!"
I shouted at Cora from outside of my room, she has a date with Jayla and was told she needed to wear a dress.
Cora threw a hissy fit before actually wearing the dress which made it more difficult for me.
"I don't want to!"
Cora shouted back at me with a whining tone, I sighed and walked in the room.
To say I was surprised was an understatement, Cora was wearing a gorgeous dress.
"Corazon."
I said looked at her in awe, she looked so beautiful in that moment that my eyes began to water a bit.
In years of our friendship, I have never witness Cora in a dress or a skirt before.
Cora's Dress
      I ran over to her and hugged her tightly, she smiled into my shoulders and hugged me back
I ran over to her and hugged her tightly, she smiled into my shoulders and hugged me back.
When I tell you that my best friend looked like a goddess, I mean she looked like a whole goddess.
"I love this dress actually."
Cora said as she walked to the full length mirror to admire herself, I loved the dress on her as well.
It hugged her curves just the right way, I walked over to my vanity and opened my jewelry box.
I looked through it until I grabbed a beautiful necklace, I walked behind her and put it on.
This was what completed the outfit.
"Keep both things, it looked better on you than it ever did me."
I said smiling at her as I grabbed my phone to take some photos of her, she chuckled and tried to refuse although I was not having it.
I would be a monster to not let my best friend wear something and keep it when it did look amazing on her.
"Are you sure?"
Cora asked nervously, now she was really nervous as the time for the date was getting closer and she wasn't scared it wouldn't go as planned.
I placed my hands on her shoulders and nodded as I helped her with breathing, she smiled at me and took a deep breath.
There was a knock at the door and immediately, Cora began to freak out once more.
I walked out of my room and began to head downstairs, I opened the door revealing both Javon and Jayla.
"She's in my room having heart palpitations, please get her to relax."
I joked as Jayla hugged me before vanishing upstairs to find her soulmate, Javon walked inside and we sat on the couch talking about wrestling.
"I taught you how to box, how did you forget already?"
Javon said sounding surprised I was able to forget something really fast, I nodded my head as I stood up to get something to drink for the both of us.
He insisted we go to his gym and he would teach me again, I reluctantly agreed and walked upstairs to my room.
"Go on your date, have fun!"
I said with a smile as I changed into my gym outfit and grabbed my gym bag, I walked downstairs and left the house with Javon.
Once we got there, I was hugged by the cool air from the air conditioner.
I shivered a bit but Javon grabbed my arm and walked me to the ring, I sighed and put my head gear to protect it from getting harmed.
Javon was pumped to teach me, I swear he was more excited to teach me than I was excited to learn.
"WRONG POSITION SCARLETT!"
Javon shouted at me like a parent screaming at their child to write the right answer for their homework.
"I DON'T BOX JAVON!"
I shouted back with a chuckle, he looked at me like he was offended and showed me the correct position.
This kid took boxing to the heart, so it was easy to make the little vein in his forehead pop out with the slightest bit of wrong movement.
"Go."
Javon said, I nodded slowly and we began to box.
Like I said, this kid takes boxing seriously so it was pretty easy to piss him off.
"SCARLETT!"
Javon shouted once more, he began to go on a rant about how I was supposed to know my cues on stopping and starting, I couldn't contain my laughter.
" How was I supposed to know when to stop and start!? You said go! "
Javon rolled his eyes playfully and we finished boxing, if I were to want to learn how to be a professional boxer, I'm not going to Javon.
I told him that too, I didn't need to be screamed at.
"You're a terrible coach."
I joked as we walked to McDonald's, he disagreed with a smile.
Today was good, although I never want to box again, at least not with Javon's coaching.
