I Don't Wanna Live Like A Broken Record (Oli Sykes)

Chapter 9

** Kathy’s P.O.V. **

** Lunch **

I sat down next to next to Luke and Zahara. Malia and Nicholls sat in front of us. Even though I haven’t really hang out with them that much, they seemed pretty cool. Maybe during these weeks I will hang out with them.

“Hey Kathy, so please tell me, are you and Oli dating?” Malia asked. I saw Luke slightly tense up but I pretended not to notice.

“Um, nope we’re just friends. Ever heard of that word? Friend, just like what we are. Friends… people who hang out with each other and have a nice time.” I said.

“Calm your tits girl. I was just asking, and it’s not like I was the only one wondering about that.” Malia said and Nicholls elbowed him in the arm.

“Sorry, Malia sometimes can be weird. Anyway, yeah we understood what you mean. However, this question is just complete curiosity. Why do you hang out so much with Oli?” Nicholls asked me. I felt everybody’s eyes on me. Why was hanging out with him such a big deal? I mean we’re only friends and it’s not like he’s an alien.

“I hang out with him because I find him a pretty cool guy. He likes the same music as me and he is pretty nice. I don’t understand why it’s so weird.” I said. They all nodded.

“I just find it weird that somebody actually hangs out with him. Nobody does.” Nicholls said.

“Oh shut up, I bet if you got to know him better you would like him too.” I said and went back to eating. I felt Luke squeeze my wrist and in a way to try to calm me down or to stop. However he happened to be squeezing the wrist I cut. I shrieked in pain and I pulled back my hand. He looked at me confused.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t notice I squeezed on that tight.” He commented. Zahara started to stare at me too. I started to feel nervous.

“Uh… it’s ok, just leave it.” He just shrugged his shoulders and we went back to the conversation. After ten minutes we reached the end of lunch and we had to go back to class.

“Hey, meet you after school at the parking lot?” He asked me. I nodded and hugged him, he returned and we left for our classes.

** After School **

I started walking to the parking lot when I bumped into Oli.

“Hey Oli. How are you?” I asked him.

“Fine, just heading back home. You ready for your date?” I raised an eyebrow with his choice of words.

“Oh c’mon, it’s not a date. We’re just hanging out and we’re friends. Nothing more.” I told him.

“Ok then, so everything still planned for tomorrow?” He asked me. A smile appeared on my face.

“Of course, sorry but I better get going. Luke will be wondering what happened to me. See you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.” Oli said and left. I finally reached the parking lot to find Luke waiting beside his car. I smiled as I walked over to him.

“Sorry, bumped into Oli in the meantime.” I told him as we entered the car.

“It’s ok, what did you two talk about?” He asked me.

“Oh nothing much, he asked me about the date I was now going on and if everything was ok for after school tomorrow.” I told him. He started the engine and drove away from the school.

“So you told him we were going on a date?” He said with a smile and a raised eyebrow. I started giggling.

“No, he asked if we could hang out after school today, so I told him no because I had to hang out with you. He just randomly decided to take that as a date. So then he asked me to hang out with him tomorrow, and I was like ok.” I told him. He just shook his head and continued to drive.

“So where are you taking me?” I asked him curious.

“Um, we are going to see a movie together.” He told me. A smile appeared on my face.

“That’s wonderful. What movie are we watching?” I asked.

“Um, well it’s your choice actually.” He told me.

“Horror, please!” I said right away. He looked at me strangely.

“I thought you were going to say some sort of chick flick, not horror.” He said giggling. I started to blush.

“Uh… yeah, I know I’m weird. I just really love horror movies. Don’t expect me to get scared during the movie and hide in between your arms like so many other girls.” I told him. He started laughing even more.

“Yeah, sure ok. Well, I already understood you were weird. That’s what I like about you Kathy, you don’t even try to hide who you really are.” He said and winked. I blushed some more and tried to cover my face with my hair and I lowered my head to stare at the floor. After a few more minutes we finally arrived to the cinema. We got the tickets, popcorn and coke, and went to our seats. The movie was great, we left and he decided to bring me back home. We finally arrived when I was about to open the door he stopped me.

“Wait, I have to at least try to be a nice man, wait right there while I run as a stupid guy to open the door for you.” He said and started running around the car. I just started laughing but I couldn’t stop myself from blushing. How adorable can he be? He finally reached my side of the car and opened the door for me, and put a hand in front of me. I gladly accepted the hand and got out of the car. We walked together until we reached the door to my house.

“I had a really great time with you Luke.” I said to him.

“I’m happy you enjoyed it.” He said. I couldn’t help but hug him. He gladly accepted the hug and returned it.

“I did really. The movie was great and you’re amazing.” I said smiling.

“I just want you to know that I really like you Kathy. I do and a lot.” He said calmly. I looked down and blushed. I didn’t know what to say. He moved closer and put a finger under my chin and lift it so I had to look at him. I couldn’t help but blush some more.

“I’m not joking, I really like you. It’s better that I get going or else my parents will start to wonder what happened to me. I hope you have a great rest of the day.” He said and leaned forward and kissed me. I felt shocked at first because I didn’t expecting that. However I right away started to kiss back. After a few seconds he let go, said goodbye and walked back to his car. A huge blush covered my cheeks. He just kissed me… I opened the door and went straight for my room.

I jumped on the bed and stayed there for a few minutes to just think about today. Wow, Luke and I just kissed… I couldn’t believe it. I then slowly looked down and stared at my many bracelets covering my arm and what he told me today. He said that I didn’t even try to hide who I really was… I did hide myself. I did it every single fucking day. I hide behind many innocent looking bracelets that were able to fool so many people.

I got up and searched for the thing I needed the most in the moment. I got it and locked myself in the bathroom. I stared at the blade for a bit. I shouldn’t do it, I had a good day it after all. However, I do deserve it. I mean, I’m just a stupid fucking liar, mistake, error and I mess up everything in life. I bet Luke doesn’t even like me and it was some sort of bet or game. I brought the blade closer to my skin and started cutting. One line… two lines… three lines… four lines… five lines and I dropped the blade. I finished cleaning the mess and put everything back and went straight for bed not caring about everything else.

** I hope you guys liked the chapter. Sorry, if the chapter is a bit shorter than usual but I didn’t really feel to write a whole page about them at the movies and everything. I know I’m a bit late but still who cares, Happy Easter to everybody. So, Luke just kissed Kathy… What do you guys think about it? Do you guys like it or not?
