Chapter 26: twenty six of them

Several days passed, which could be converted into months. To be specific, five months. Five months and the two were already chasing their separate ways. Both of them avoided each other's gaze, without the conversations which used to interconnect the two. The moon and the sun both chased the same path, darkness. It was dull. Utterly dull for both of them. Even with the help aided by their peers, they still remained in the shadow.

Ni-ki found other ones, while Sunoo remained with his own. Ni-ki reunited with Sunghoon and Jake, while Sunoo stuck to hanging out with Jay and Jungwon. To be precise, third wheeling.

After he lost his moon, they respected his decision. They also gave the two the personal space they needed. Jungwon initiated to take care of Sunoo and not make him feel ostracised and lonely, by including him again with his boyfriend. Jay, being the best boyfriend had no grudge against that, he understood that his bestfriend was lonely again and it was both of their job to make him feel better.

Yet the sun chased the wrong path, darkness. Dullness ate up within him. He missed something. He missed the ray of sunshine which he needed, for processing it. Yes, he was content with what happened, but sometimes it was too tiring for him. There was something blocking him off from his path to joy. He often declined help from Jay and Jungwon but them coaxing him didn't make any efforts. He always reciprocated the support given by them, but he never initiated it.

Well with the lost moon, he was completely on a baffled path. Starting with his feelings for the former sun. He was chaotically muddled with it. He overthought whenever it was related to his feelings for Sunoo. They both are back to being strangers yet Ni-ki felt strange. It was unusual of him to be just strangers with Sunoo. He wondered if he lost feelings, but at the same time the thought of Sunoo made him so flustered. He has stopped thinking about him.

June bloomed a beginning with Sunoo and Ni-ki both, landed in a dilemma of confusion peering at each other.It was lunch break and they gave each other They ended up getting paired together to organise the stalls for the fun fest that is happening for as a treat by the principal for the students who accomplished going through the hardships of the first semester.

They both were at the staricase, where they used to eat together , staring at each other. No one knew what to utter.

Flashback

"Sunoo and Riki, report to room 719 real quick. The president has a favour which needs to be granted by the two of you." The teacher elaborated as soon as the lunch break started.

Both of them noted it. Sunoo let a shiver down his spine when he heard the name Riki. He knew there was going to be some interaction between the two, which he didn't want that to happen.

When they both reached to the room. There was Jay on the corner waving them both and giving hies to each other. 

Then came the president of the school, Hanbin. He had some papers in his hands. Sunoo and Ni-ki bowed at him as the president shoved a smile at them.

"Ah Sunoo and Ni-ki, Jay recommended you guys to me. I needed a huge favour. Fun fest is coming soon in a span of a week. Please help us out in organising the stall section of it. I'm setting you two to do this task together. There are a bunch of students who have signed up to do different kinds of stalls. Here are the papers. Classify them into different categories and prepare them wisely" he elaborated.

The two of them looked at each other. Sunoo blinked twice as he thought, "Unbelievable. So now me and Nishimura are paired I see. Wow."

He sweated. Ni-ki had narrowed his eyes, annoyed. Luckily Hanbin and Jay couldn't see how unamusing it was for him to be paired with Sunoo again.

"Ugh this Sunoo! I swear I took so much time to move on from him and now this Jay tries to reunite us. Ugh." Ni-ki thought.

Sunoo showed a sign so that Ni-ki could follow him before they go. Ni-ki made up his mind to rather follow since they both had to undergo each other and deal with themselves, just to get over this project.

End of flashback

"Nishimura I-" Sunoo said but got interrupted by Ni-ki who said "How about starbucks after school?" Sunoo nodded giving a thumbs up. Sunoo looked up to look at Ni-ki as he asked, "Time? And what will we do there man?" Ni-ki touched his own chin while he glanced somewhere else. He hummed and finally answered, "As I said after school, I'll take you to   Starbucks right after school ends. Inform Jungwon about that. And we can plan on the stalls."

"Deal then."
