𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳 16

I half-expected to wake up to the bright sun on my face, but when my eyes fluttered open around 7:12 AM, I woke up to a dark, gray blanket covering the sky outside my window. Luckily, most of my cold symptoms seemed to be going away. I looked to the cat laying by the foot of my bed, who was still fast asleep.

Thank God it's Friday, I thought as I got up

I quickly got ready, pulling on a long-sleeve, navy blue top and light-wash mom jeans, along with my black and white converse. I couldn't stop thinking about last night. It was as if I was in some fairytale or a Disney movie. It felt unreal.

As I walked down the hall, something caught my attention in grandma's bedroom. I didn't like going in that room... but I did anyways. Slowly entering her bedroom, I immediately noticed a photograph sitting on her empty vanity desk. I looked over the people in the picture. My mother, my father, me, my brother, my grandmother. Two faces were marked out with black ink, a child stood in front of them, his face was not marked out. Since the photograph was not in the best quality, I could not see the child's face very clearly. One of the marked out figures and my father were shaking hands, for some reason. The background showed a hospital-like room, with bright lights and medical equipment. All of a sudden, a memory came rushing back to my head. I could barely remember the cold atmosphere and nurses pushing stretchers by.

What is this place?

"Y/N! You're gonna be lateeee!" David yelled, from the living room.

I snapped out of my train of thought and exited my grandmother's room. Glancing at the clock on the wall, I realized I was going to be late, so I quickly grabbed my backpack and opened the front door.

"Bye David!" I yelled as I ran out of of my apartment.

Before he could answer, I shut the door and sprinted down the stairs and out of the building.

The "walk" to school was pretty fast... considering I ran the entire way.

By the time I actually arrived, I was practically panting like a dog as I walked through the halls.

                                                             *Peter's POV*

My head rested in the palm of my hand as I fiddled with my pencil in class. I had hoped what I gave Y/N made her feel at least a little better. 

All of a sudden, someone rushed over and sat in the desk next to mine. I immediately looked over to see Y/N hunched over her desk. Her hand rested on her chest as she choked out jagged breaths, as if she was struggling to catch her breath.

Reluctantly, I leaned over towards her.

"Are you okay?"

She looked over to me, and flashed me a wobbly smile, "Yeah..."

When I looked into her E/C eyes, I realized our faces were inches apart.

                                                             *First Person POV*

I thought my breathing couldn't get any worse, well that was before I realized our faces were inches apart. I couldn't help but stare into his adorable, brown eyes, that happened to be staring right back at mine.

Peter leaned back and our eyes broke away. 

I almost hated how he made me feel, and how he did it so effortlessly. I was with Alex and that was that... right?

Lunch time came and I sat with Alexander, Lily and some other people.

                                                              *Peter's POV*

I sat with Ned and MJ at lunch as they both debated about random topics. I politely nodded and laughed along... until I overheard something amongst a group of people sitting a few seats away from us.

"Sooo... Y/N, I heard you and Alex are together now." the blonde girl said.

I glanced over there as Alexander slung his arm around Y/N's shoulder. She nodded shyly.

I couldn't help but watch him lean over and kiss Y/N, as a jealous-sad feeling came over me. 

Ned must have noticed what I was looking at, "Oh... sorry, dude."

I turned to look at him, as he had a sympathetic look on his face.

"W-What?"

"Well... I just thought you were a little... sad? Since Y/N's dating Alexander now."

"No, I-I'm fine..."

MJ decided to tune in on the conversation.

"The look on your face said otherwise."

I shook my head, "No... really... I'm fine..." I mumbled.

At least she's happy

                                                              *First Person POV*

The bell rung, signaling the end of the school day. Alexander and I held hands as we exited the school building.

"I'll see text you later." Alex said once we got to the city's sidewalk.

"Alrighty, see you next week."

He flashed a smile and walked off in the opposite direction. I had previously planned to visit my grandmother again, since I forgot to yesterday. I was extremely curious about the photo on her vanity desk, but it's not like I could ask her about it.

The gray blanket still covered the sky, but luckily rain had not fallen yet. 

When I finally arrived to the hospital, I sat in the waiting room for a little while until the nurse called my name. I followed her down the hall until we reached my grandmother's hospital room. The nurse continued down the hall as I entered the room. Immediately, I saw a familiar figure standing near the bed.

"Miss Charlotte?"

The lady fumbled with the glass of water in her hands as she looked over to me.

"Um- yes?" she said.

"I didn't expect to see you here..."

She placed the glass down on the table next to the bed, "Ah, well... just doing my job."

"But... I'm confused... they said you were not even a registered healthcare worker here."

Her brows raised.

"Oh, well... I am quite new to this hospital... so they wouldn't have any record of me just yet." she awkwardly chuckled.

I nodded, hesitantly. Suddenly, there seemed to be a loud commotion down the hall.

"Um, well, I've got to go... I hope to see you on your next visit."

She smiled and left the room, leaving me in a state of confusion. 

I left the hospital earlier, considering there wasn't all that much to do at the hospital anyways.
