Chapter Forty Six

I hear the door click shut after Alexander and all the tears I was holding back spring free. I bite down on my bottom lip trying to stop it from quivering. if only I could tell him the three words I haven't told anyone else. I sink down on the small stool pressing my palms on my cheeks trying to stop the stream of tears. We knew this day was going to come yet I wasn't prepared. If only I knew how much that night was going to change. He's changed everything in my life and I know I can't change it back. The door opens wide and I look up with the hope of seeing Alexander.
" Amore?" my father rushes to my side and presses his palms to cup my cheek wiping away the tears.
"What's wrong amore"
I look at his grey eyes bitting my lip from telling him everything
"Nothing papa I just miss mama today" I wipe away the tears and give a smile that doesn't convince him.
"Bullshit, What's actually wrong Alara?" he backs away as I stand up
"Why? cant a girl miss her deceased mother on her wedding day?" I stand in front of the mirror wiping away the leftover tears.
"Not when the girl is you," My father stands closer behind me
"Why?" He furrows his eyebrows though he doesn't indicate what he's talking about I already know what he's asking
"Why are you two doing this?" he places his arm on my shoulder bringing me into his chest as fresh tears coat my face
"It whats better papa" I sob breaking apart in my father's arm He rubs my back and kisses my head
"The world we live in won't allow it papa" I look up at him and he frowns as he wipes my tears away
" I knew you were strong but today you proved how strong you really are" he whispers as he wipes my tears  away
"I couldn't be prouder of the woman you became "He kisses my forehead

"I got the ice cream" Anna barges in but skids to a stop as she sees us two
"What's wrong?"
I put on a smile and chuckle
"Just papa trying to make me cry" I look up at him as he frowns but quickly puts on a tight smile and nods
"Papa don't you'll ruin her make up" anna puts the ice cream on the table and wipes my cheeks looking me up and down as her lips turn in a proud smile.
Just on cue, Daniel runs in.
"they're ready- ...wow... Alara you... you... look amazing" he comes in wrapping his arm around me and brings anna into the hug as she sniffles.
Father kisses the top of all our heads and wipes the stray tear on his cheek
"they're ready now we should go" daniel points towards the door and I nod I look up at my father to see his eyebrows frowned as he looks down at me but I smile and nod.

My father pats my arm as it intertwined under his
"Are you sure Alara?" he asks and I nod without meeting his eye cause I know if I do I won't be able to hide my tears again
the large wooden doors open and the entire room turns towards us. Alonso stands on the other end with Alex beside him but I look away and start walking with my father as he holds my hand tight.
the bridal chorus starts playing on the large pianos.
I step on the rose petals on the floor that were thrown by the flower girl, everyone in the room wears smiles as they watch me walk down until I reach the end where I look at my father as he gives my hand to Alonso.
"everyone we are joined here today..." the priest's voice is drowned out as My eyes keep tracing towards Alexs yet my hands are in Alonsos.
Alex's eyes are right on mine and I get lost in the moment until I hear my name.
"Do you Alara Elizbeth Dola take Alonso kaiser Blade as your lawfully husband through sickness and health?" all eyes are on me and I look from Alex to Alonso as he smiles at me waiting for my answer,
My mouth is open but words don't fall out, Alonso looks at me with wide eyes and nods as I still haven't answered.
"I..I-"
BANG BANG
The entire crowd shouts and ducks but I'm frozen in place.
