The next morning,

Cathy was fixing breakfast for everyone while Sara was outside in the yard playing with Spotty and Sparky

The lovely couple finally made it downstairs, still dressed in pajamas since they both have a day off and planning on spending it in bed and only getting downstairs for food

Wendy was still in bed and didn't feel like getting up, what's the point of getting up? She felt lonely, depressed and lost her always positive character

"It's almost noon you know? " Cathy mentioned

"So? We're having our day off" Dana answered with a mouth full of food

"Well, don't you two need to do some birthday shopping, since it's only three days until the big day" Cathy mentioned, needing them out of the house so she could plan the surprise party

"Nope, I'm not doing anything that day, besides that I've to work on the day itself" Dana replied

"Me too" Michael added

"Not all day right? " Cathy asked them

"I think I'll be back around dinner time" Dana mentioned

"Or just after dinner time" Michael added

"Hm ok, because I still want you both to be here so Sara and I can give you guys our presents" Cathy told them

"You shouldn't have" Michael and Dana both told her

"Well I know, but I wanted to" Cathy replied

They talked a little more and after they finished breakfast Michael and Dana went back upstairs

A few minutes later Wendy made it downstairs, still wearing the oldest shirt she could find, didn't bother to comb her hair or wear makeup, it looked like she just had been crying again

"My baby come here" Cathy sighed and hugged her oldest daughter "I'm going to take care of you now" She told her

"Love you mom" Wendy sniffed

"Love you too" Cathy replied

"Mommy? " Sara asked, getting inside the house

"Yes it's me" Wendy sniffed

Sara went over to her mother and hugged her "Don't cry, I love you"

"I love you too honey and I'm ok" Wendy told her

"You're staying here? That's so much fun with uncle Michael and Auntie Dana" Sara smiled

"Yes I'm staying here for a few days" Wendy answered

"Is dad also coming? " Sara asked hoping he didn't since he always ruins it

"No he's not coming" Wendy sniffed about to cry again

"So we can stay up late and don't have to count how many candy bars we want?  That's great" Sara replied happily " I'm outside ok?" She mentioned

"Yes" Wendy answered her

Once Sara was out of hearing Wendy asked her mother how Sara could be so happy about the whole divorcing her father thing

"Honey look at it from her point of view, the dude never bought her a birthday present, always ruined her fun and brought back the birthday present she got from Michael and Dana, her two favourite people in the world" Cathy explained "Plus he never really bonded with her" she continued

"That makes me a horrible mother, because I thought he did bond with her" Wendy sniffed

"Because he told you? " Cathy asked
