chasing stars - poetry

battle lines

so it's a crisis of faith
a crisis of morals
a crisis of futures
when everything you
thought you knew
gets turns upside down
and suddenly you're
cut loose from all the
ties you had and you
realize that you're free
to make your own choices
and suddenly it dawns
on you that all the ones
who told you it's your choice
have just been the ones
who want you on their side
