WILLIAM FAULKNER WASN'T being dim-witted when he said, 'Given a choice between grief and nothing, I'd choose grief'.

A lot of people would quickly disagree with this, having facing the greatest difficulties that grief has to offer. But all you need really, is to sit down and think about that quote for a few moments. And I mean, really think about it.

Grief is just one of the many complex emotions that we as humans must go through at some point in our lives. Yeah, sure, it might feel like the end of the world, but like Faulkner said, it's better than nothing.

When you lose a loved one, grief keeps you connected like nothing else. It keeps you connected with not only the one you lost, but those around you. Grief never leaves, never. It's a guaranteed forever connection between two or more people. So embrace it, because it's the best that you'll ever get, as sad as it sounds. Grief is a representation of love shared between souls, it keeps you human.

So as you lay roses on the beds of your lover, friend or family, choose grief. Choose grief over nothing.
