Third person POV

A black car stops in front of an incomplete building. The front door opens and a man with a large upper body steps out.

He sets his suit and moves on to open the back door through which an older man wearing an ankara up and down steps out.

The older man walks into the building with fast paces, the other man following behind him like a bodyguard.

After minutes of walking within the building, they both enter a large room with little illumination. Two men were pacing back and forth in the room but they stop at the sound of the door opening.

“Where is the body?" Scorpion makes his way to a chair with a table in front of it. He sits in the chair and places his left fingers on the table, hitting them rhythmically on the table.

The two men shudder at his voice. They both make efforts to avoid eye contact with the fierce looking man called Scorpion in front of them.

“I said where is the damn body!" Scorpion hits his hands on the table, the sound giving off an echo which fills the air of the large room.

“We don't know Sir." One of the men stutters, his legs shaking just like the second man.

Scorpion stands up and walks towards them. He raises his hands and his bodyguard makes his way to the door and locks it with a key.

“One thing I trusted you guys with. Just one job and you both ruined it." Scorpion raises his hands and stops midway.

“Bring the gun." He says to his bodyguard.

“Please, give us one more chance we'll find the body. Don't do this." They both say simultaneously, going down on their knees.

“And who are you to tell me what to do?" He collects the gun and uses it to hit one of the men in front of him.

The man falls to the ground and Scorpion shoots him in the head. Blood splashes out, reaching the  body of the other man.

“I'm sure you don't want to end up like him." Scorpion says and the man nods his head frantically.

“I'm giving you 14 days. You must have the body here if not, I'll kill you slowly and I'll destroy your family right in front of you." Scorpion kicks him hardly in the abdomen.

“Clean up this mess.” He says to his bodyguard and walks out if the room.

TOLU'S POV

Coming home for the midterm was one of the things I dreaded ever since I found out what my mother did to my father. I don't want to face her because I can't get over the fact that she's a murderer.

I am back to square one. To the way things were when I was young. When I was bullied and Tola did nothing about it. However, I blame myself for this. I pray that God helps me through these tough times.

I still don't know how I'm going to talk to my stepdad about my mother's quest to kill him. She might be my mother but I won't allow her to do such to that wonderful man. In fact, I can't bring myself to call her mum anymore because I keep remembering the fact that she killed my father.

I planned to talk to my stepdad but he hasn't been at home since I got home. I really pray that God keeps him safe.

My phone rings and I pick it after seeing that its Olamide calling.

"Hello Babes." I say.

"My guy. What's up na?" She says.

" I should be asking you that question. I'm fine sha." I reply her.
