Water and Ice (Loki Love Story)

Chapter 65

Aqua's P. O. V:

I canter Merlin around the arena, seeing Natasha and Freya on Whinny and Sparkles at the other end of the next arena. They were practicing jumping as I was, our horses leaping over the fences.

We'd been riding for four hours now, and I notice the sun beginning to set in the distance. The kids and I dismount and rub down the horses before putting them to bed and feeding them.

We head inside to get changed and I order pizza for dinner. We eat while watching Hercules, laughing through the movie. Afterwards, I help Natasha and Freya with their homework before they play for awhile.

I sit in the living room, rewatching The Little Mermaid when my gaze drifts to the picture of my and my husband, Loki, arms around each other under a tree in Asgard five years ago.

"Mum?" Freya says as she notices my stare, and I flick my gaze to her and Nat, both of them looking sad. "We miss daddy."

"Come here," I hold out my arms for them and my daughters climb up on either side of me. "I do too, but he'll always be in our hearts. Remember that."

Natasha and Freya nod their heads and we stay like that for the rest of the movie. When it was finished, we all take a shower/bath and get into our pyjamas. I triple check all our bags are packed for the trip to Venice, Italy tomorrow, and put my kids to bed.

I head to my own room down the hall and sit on my window seat as I gaze out the window late that night, Natasha and Freya already in bed. It's been a week and a half since the war ended and The Avengers have broken up, having gone their separate ways, though I was still working for S. H. I. E. L. D.

I'd booked a trip to Venice, Italy, with my parents and daughters. Bloom, Leo and their kids were coming too.

I'd received a phone call from Fury about these Elementals that have popped up. He'd tried to get me to help but "persuaded" him to let me have this  vacation to wind down and recuperate from many losses.

I get up and slide into bed, turning off my lamp. I then drift off into sleep, dreaming of happier times.

The next morning, I wear my pink sleeveless peplum top and black skirt with the dreamy unicorn jewellery set. I make us some breakfast of eggs and toast. We were booking a taxi to the airport.

Freya is wearing a blue and purple dress with a mermaid scaled top and flower choker necklace, her blonde hair tied in a braid slung over her left shoulder.

Natasha wears a long sleeved dark blue cold shoulder top and matching Capri with floral prints on them and black flats on her feet. She wears a black choker necklace.
