Play the attached song :D

Ranboo pov

I could tell she wasn't in the mood to talk, so I didn't question her further. Instead, a small smile spread across my face as I pulled out my phone. I went on Spotify and searched for a song, then put it on, turned the volume up all the way, and put my phone in my pocket.

'Out of My League' started playing, and I grabbed Iris' hands. "Is this okay?" I asked quietly, and she nodded.

40 days and 40 nights
I waited for a girl like you to come and save my life
All the days I waited for you
You know the ones who said I'd never find someone like you

We started dancing in the middle of the park, the rain falling around us, and I started softly singing along with the music.

'Cause you were out of my league
All the things I believed
You were just the right kind
Yeah, you were more than just a dream
You were out of my league
Got my heartbeat racing
If I die, don't wake me
'Cause you are more than just a dream

Tears still fell down her face, but she was smiling as I spun her around.

From time to time I pinch myself
Because I think my girl mistakes me for somebody else
And every time she takes my hand
All the wonders that remain
Become a simple fact

My eyes locked with hers as she started quietly laughing; she tried to spin me around as a joke, but I was too tall, so I had to crouch down.

That you were out of my league
All the things I believed
You were just the right kind
Yeah, you were more than just a dream
You were out of my league
Got my heartbeat racing
If I die, don't wake me
'Cause you are more than just a dream

A smile spread across my face as she began singing along to the music, and within seconds we were practically shouting the chorus.

You were out of my league
All the things I believed
You were just the right kind
Yeah, you were more than just a dream
You were out of my league
Got my heartbeat racing
If I die, don't wake me
'Cause you are more than just a dream

As the end of the song played, Iris hugged me tightly, and she mumbled a thank you.

"Do you feel better?" I asked her.

"Yeah."

"Wanna sit down?"

Iris pov

'Wanna sit down?' His question ran through my head, triggering the memory of waiting on a park bench in anticipation for something that would never happen. It's too soon. Don't trust him. Eventually, he'll treat you like Lewis did.

I started panicking, but before an anxiety attack happened, Ranboo noticed my panicked look. He wrapped his arms around me in an attempt to calm me down again.

"It's okay," he assured me, letting his head rest on top of mine as I hugged him back.

We stood like that for a few minutes, ignoring the fact that we were both fully drenched. Our shirts appeared plastered to ourselves. He let me cry while he held me close to him, rubbing my back slightly in an attempt to comfort me. I wanted to stay like this forever; his embrace was warm despite the cold rain, and everything from the way he hugged me to the sound of the rain hitting the ground was comforting.

That peaceful moment was interrupted by my phone vibrating, and I unwillingly pulled away from the hug. Ranboo whined slightly but he realized why I had pulled away when I checked my phone. 12:45 am. Didn't we leave at 11?

I saw the text from Tubbo, asking where we were. I replied that we ended up staying at the park for a while and lost track of time. He replied within seconds, saying that he wanted us to come back as soon as we could. I smiled at the fact that he was worried about me. Putting my phone away, I turned to look at Ranboo. His hair wasn't fluffy anymore; instead it was flat against his head from the rain. His face was flushed slightly, and I'm sure mine was as well.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." I kept repeating those words to him, incredibly grateful for his kind and comforting actions. He didn't have to do that... But he did.

As a reply, Ranboo hugged me again. This hug was quick but still comforting. "We should get going," I told him sadly.

We headed home, and when we got there Tubbo was standing at the door. "I should've gone with you," he said, looking guilty.

"It's fine, Tubbo, I just forgot to check the time," I assured him.

"Well I'm gonna go to bed now, 'night," he said, going upstairs to his room.

Ranboo followed me into the room we were staying in and helped me set up the blankets.

"Thank you again Ranboo," I whispered as I laid down next to him on the blanket.

"Don't worry, we'll do that again next time it rains," he whispered back, grinning.
