Chapter 13

MARK'S POV

I watched Claire as she walked into the bathroom. I can't believe I'm actually on a date with her! I thought.

"Hi sir what drinks can I get for you today?" The waitress asked as she walked over to me.

"um... can I have one regular Pepsi and one diet

"Are you ready to order or do you need more time?

"I can order now, May I have a steak with a side of spinach" I said closing the menu

"Ok," she said writing it down on her notepad

"And can I have one spaghetti with meatballs."

"Is that all?" She asked

"Yes thats everything"

"O...k. The wait should be about thirty to forty-five minutes" she said putting her notepad away

"Thank you" I said as she walked away

How long does going to the bathroom take? I thought to myself.  Just then, I saw that I got a text from Wilbur

Bench trio plus wilbur

Will: Hows it going?

Its good

She just needed to use the bathroom

Tom: Did you guys make out?

Tubbo: Tommy!

Tom: fine. He's too ugly to make out with any girl

anyways

I'm hurt

Will: her going to the bathroom is never a good sign

Wdym?

Tom: since when did wilby become the love expert

Will: first of all dont call me wilby, and second dont worry about it mark, its probably nothing

Ok

I put my phone away and saw a figure walking towards my table

"Hey I already o-," I said but stopped when I saw it wasn't Claire

"Were you waiting for someone else?" A girl asked sitting in Claire's seat

"Yes my date is here with-" I started but she cut me off

"Just forget about her. I'm definitely much better than her. My name is Jen by the way. Here, let me give you my number." she said reaching for the phone in my hand but I pulled it away from her

"I'm not interested, I already told you I have a date" I said

"C'mon she wouldn't know. It can be just between us" She said reaching for my phone yet again

Just then I saw that Claire had just walked out of the bathroom and saw me talking to this girl. Once she saw us she walked out. I have to follow her I thought.

"Listen I'm not interested so leave me alone!" I said to Jen standing up and following Claire

CLAIRE'S POV

I walked out of the door and onto the side walk. Questions were running through my head. Who was she? Why was she talking to mark? How long have they been talking? I stood outside lost in my thoughts when I saw someone walking towards me.

"Claire" I heard Mark say

"Who was that?" I asked crossing my arms

"I promise you that I didn't know who that was"

"Well you looked like you did. I was in the bathroom for ten minutes and this is what you do? I can't beli-"

That's when Mark leaned closer to me and our lips touched. Our breath mixed.  His lips were soft a gentle.We stayed there for a few seconds until we separated.

"Do you believe me now?" Mark said

"Fine, I believe you" I said, giving him a pecking on the cheek.

"I'm just going to run back in and grab some things before we go" Mark said "I'll be right back"

A few minutes later Mark walked out of the restaurant holding two food bags.

"C'mon, let's go home" Mark said a we walked toward the car hand in hand
