TOGETHER
Our secret.❞

"KARLI!" Sam yelled as they looked around the building for her.

Odessa was burning with anger. She just needed to let some of her rage loose. Bucky furrowed his brows as he looked over to the girl, her fists were clenched so tightly that her knuckles had turned white. He slowly slid his fingers within hers and pulled her closer.

Karli leant over the banister so that the trio could see her, despite her telling Sam and Odessa to come without Bucky. She wasn't sure if she could trust any of them yet, this was how she was going to find out.

"You called our sisters? That's how we're gonna play this?" Sam questioned whilst storming towards her. Odessa was going to follow, but instead, Bucky wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her back.

She was too angry to talk. He knew that she'd resort to violence and as strong as she may have been, she wasn't able to take down a super soldier without knowing her fighting patterns.

"Sam, Dessie, I would never hurt them. I just wanted to understand you better. After all, Savannah is still a child. I'm not evil." Karli looked directly at Odessa as she spoke, causing Bucky to glare at her.

His hand cupped the back of Odessa's head, making her turn and look at him instead of Karli. He could feel how angry she was. He began to run his fingers through her dark hair, he didn't miss the way she almost instantly relaxed under his gentle touch.

"I see you, um, didn't come alone." Karli motioned towards Bucky.

"You have to end this now." Sam seethed. He couldn't think straight, all he was thinking about was his and Odessa's family.

"I don't wanna hurt you. You're just a tool in the regimes I'm looking to destroy. You're not hiding behind a shield." Karli continued, Odessa looked up to Bucky, who offered her a sympathetic smile. "If I were to kill you, it'd be meaningless. I was gonna ask you to join me. Or do the world a favor and let me go."

Odessa scoffed and pulled away from Bucky. She leant on the banister and looked directly towards Karli. She ran her tongue over her bottom lip and let out a psychotic chuckle.

"You want us to join you, after you threatened our families? God, you really must be insane." She shook her head as she laughed, almost as if she hadn't heard anything quite as funny before.

Everything felt silent for a moment, Odessa noticed the way that Sam pressed his ear piece, Sharon was probably telling him something from the other side.

"It's Walker." Sam turned to look at Bucky and Odessa.

Bucky jumped down as the same time as Karli, causing her to throw him back into the wall. Angered, Odessa jumped down and swung for Karli. She heard an audible crack, which caused her to stagger back at her own strength.

Sam watched the whole event unfold in front of him. He couldn't piece together why Karli nearly fell to the floor with one punch from Odessa.

The dark haired man slowly stood up with the help from Odessa. He gave her hand a light squeeze and noticed her now split knuckles. He hoped to God that what he was thinking wasn't true.

"I'll send you the location. Go!" Sam announced, he went to grabbed Odessa but she'd already started running, much faster than usual.

Odessa managed to beat Bucky the building where John Walker currently was. She had so much built up anger for him and Karli at the minute. She just wanted to get some of that anger out.

"We need to split up." Odessa instructed as she turned to face Bucky, who was looking at her incredibly confused.

"You're not leaving my side." Bucky shook his head, he was worried about the girl and trying to make sense of her new found strength and super speed.

"Buck, I love you but now is not the time. I will find you later." Odessa didn't both to wait for a response, instead she just ran off.

She searched every room for John or Lemar. She hid every time that she saw a member of the Flag Smashers, not exactly wanting to get into a fight with one of them right now.

She knew that Bucky would be upset with her for leaving his side, but right now there wasn't much they could do. She just wanted to do something good for once in her life.

"Lemar?" Odessa questioned as she saw the man with his hands and legs bound laid on the floor. She rushed towards him and quickly pulled out her pocket knife to cut the ropes.

"Oh thank God." He muttered once he saw the familiar brunette. The girl helped him stand up and she allowed herself to look over him to make sure that he wasn't injured.

"You okay?" She questioned, her eyes softening. She didn't hate Lemar, he knelt John grounded. He was a good person with honest intentions.

Lemar tapped over his body, almost as if he wasn't sure himself. He let go of a small chuckle before nodding his head. He sighed in relief once he realised that he was no longer injured and could join the fight again.

"We have to help John, he's taken the serum." Lemar looked towards Odessa. "He told me that he did to you, I'm sorry."

"Bucky and Sam don't know, so I would like to keep this our secret until I tell them." Odessa was practically down on her hands and knees.

Lemar nodded understandingly, he was disappointed in John for forcing the girl to take the serum, especially since she didn't want it in the first place.

"Our secret." He smiled.
