Chapter 16: Truth❗

"Later on, the beatings came on. I told my mom about it a long time later since she noticed how I changed. And so, I switched schools. I also stopped talking to Hueningkai due to all the shame. We haven't talked for a year and I am just a coward that cannot text him. And he is now here." he clenched his fists underwater.

"I'm just so mad at myself."

Beomgyu squeezed the younger's shoulder due to being mad himself. And also he was in disbelief.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that..." he was stunned. Taehyun finally opened up to him. "Do you see me as one of those types of popular kids? The one who puts on a fake smile around?" he wondered.

"No... I don't know..."

"I can't truly deny that I never put a fake smile on. I did, but it is to make others happy. I didn't want my fans to be sad because I was. So, I tried helping them out to be happy."

"Soobin-hyung doesn't know that I've been through that. I never told him." the younger confessed as the silence grew upon them. And Beomgyu only said, "I know."

Taehyun's eyes were focused on his lap as his fists would clench more.

"You said.. you 'despisED' me. Does that mean, you don't anymore?" Beomgyu asked, feeling his heart starting to race.

And there it was again. A blush crept up Taehyun's face.

"No. I don't," he answered.

"Great."

"Huh-?" the younger jolted back when he saw Beomgyu's face close to his.

"Because I never despised you, Kang Taehyun," Beomgyu said as he stared into the younger's brown eyes with a flirty smile on his face while holding the boy's chin.

'Too close.'

"What-?"

Taehyun didn't finish the sentence since felt Beomgyu's lips connect with his. His eyes widened in shock but the feeling was actually pleasant which nudged him to close his eyes and kiss back as he melted into the kiss.

Beomgyu placed his hand on Taehyun's cheek, bringing him closer.

Their kiss didn't last long and Beomgyu pulled away. Taehyun's eyes slowly opened to see the older smiling happily and satisfied.

"Guess you don't just despise me anymore~" he smirked. Taehyun blushed. "I'd say, it's quite the opposite actually~" Beomgyu said in a lowered tone, a smirk not leaving his face.

"Y-yah!" Taehyun turned redder and hit the older boy's arm. His head turned to the side to try to hide away the blush. Beomgyu reached out and turned the smaller boy's face to face him.

"But you have to admit. You liked the kiss didn't you?" Taehyun turned redder as Beomgyu leaned in closer, brushing his lips against Taehyun's.

"I just told you, I'm not gay."

"Your blushing face says otherwise."

His hand that was cupping Taehyun's cheek brushed off a couple of bangs and slid further to the back of the younger's head, playing with his messy, wet hair. Taehyun leaned against the pool wall that was behind for support due to pleasure which made him feel weak. The sounds of slight water splashes could be heard as their lips kept moving against each other when Beomgyu decided to make a move and bit Taehyun's lower lip for him to open his mouth. The younger gasped and Beomgyu used the opportunity to slide his tongue in. He kissed Taehyun passionately once he was done exploring the boy's mouth.

The two pulled away and were staring into each other's eyes. Beomgyu's eyes clearly showed love and happiness.

Taehyun's eyes showed mixed feelings. His past still haunts him but he had just shared a kiss with a boy a second ago. Not just any boy, but the boy he used to hate so much. And he liked it.

He felt a hand trace down his exposed side which made him snap out of his thoughts. He immediately grabbed Beomgyu's hand, stopping it from doing anything else.

"Stop right there, naughty boy." he looked into the other's eyes.

"What's wrong? I can't read your emotions." Beomgyu asked getting straight to the point.

"Nothing. Sorry, it's getting late, I should be home." Taehyun said as he got out of the pool. He quickly dried himself with a towel and put on a shirt. "I... enjoyed it tho." he smiled and left.
