i get home from school with one day and josh is in the kitchen with my dad.

josh looks at my dad and they exchange a look.
josh: um i just- i was scared that you would um- you'd think i was only with you to get a job at your dads company. ya. but that's totally not true. i promise. i do love you
do i believe him? i want to. he has a good reason.
you: c- can we talk josh?
he nods and we go on the back porch.
you: is this true?
he nods.
you: you could've just told me. i wouldn't have thought that
josh: i know. i was just worried
i nod a bit.
you: so that's why you haven't been around much.
josh: ya. things get hectic and then random shit pops up. i'm sorry
you: it's ok. but um- what about that night of bryce's party? nessa said she saw you downtown?
josh: ya in the sports car. i was running an errand. and that car really is mine. i used some of the money i had saved up, and the new money i was making from your dad to buy it. i wasn't cheating on you
i look into his eyes and can tell he's being serious. he places one hand on my cheek.
josh: i love you more than you understand katelyn
you: i love you too. i'm sorry for-
he cuts me off by planting his soft lips on mine.
josh: so are we back together?
you: why don't we just 'talk' for now?
josh: alright
he hugs me and kisses my head.
