Chapter 50

Peeta pov:

I wake up and Katniss is sleeping next to me. Katniss starts to stir and she opens her eyes to meet mine.

"Hmm hey" she says in a hot sleepy voice.

"Hey beautiful" I say. She looks around and remembers where we are. She gives a smile then a yawn. I see the bruise on her chest and frown.

"I'm gong to go change" I say and she nods. I go to my small closet and pick out some black sweat pants and a white shirt. I go to the bathroom to change and when I get out I see Katniss changed when I was in the bathroom. And she did my bed. I sit next to her and she gives me a kiss on the cheek. 

"Happy birthday, again" she says.

"Haha Thanks" I say.

"Now let's go have some cake" she says happily. We go downstairs and I only see Conner with a big smirk on his face.

"Hey love birds" he says and I lightly blush Katniss just rolls her eyes. We sit on the counter and get a slice of my birthday cake. We finish the cake and I hear the bell of the door open. I see my dad abs my uncle Jim. Katniss sees him. Her eyes widen.

"Oh shi-" she starts.

"Peeta!" Uncle Jim says and gives me a hug. He gives Conner a hug and looks at Katniss.

"Oh please don't tell me this is your girlfriend" he says putting his hands on his head.

"Hey Jim nice to see you too" Katniss says.

"You two know each other?" Asks My dad.

"Yeah I met him at his work" Katniss says.

"Yeah I was her parole officer" Jim says .

"Wait what?" I ask.

"I got into some fights" Katniss says.

"Yeah you could say that" Jim says. "So this is your girlfriend?" He ask almost disappointed.

"Yes" I say.

"You could do better than a criminal" Jim mutters to me.

"I'm not a criminal" Katniss says angrily.

"Then why did you have a parole officer" He asks.

"So I wouldn't their ass again" Who's 'they'? My uncle Jim just scoffs. Katniss shakes her head. This is bad.
