Chapter 43

Peeta pov:

Katniss has been off since some guy named Chris came over. I don't know who he is but Katniss seemed to know him. So did Finnick. We all leave Starbucks abs walk back to the school and get our cars. Katniss drives me. I asked her if I can come over and she hesitated to agree but she soon seemed eager for me to come over. We get into her house abs she doesn't bother announcing herself. We walk upstairs and go to her room. I still can't get over how big her room is. I sit down on her bed and she sits next to me. She probably senses how bad I want to cuddle with her because she hugs me and I never felt more warm than when I am with Katniss. We pull and go more on to her bed and cuddle.

"Katniss?" I whisper.

"Mhm" she mumbles.

"Who was that man we saw on our way to Starbucks?" I ask. She tenses up and I hold her tighter and her head is on my chest where my heart is.

"Your heart beat is so calming" she mumbles.

"What?" I ask with a chuckle.

"Sorry did I say that out loud?" She asks embarrassed.

"It's ok" I say. "So......" I say referring to my previous question.

"He's my.......my brother" she whispers.

"I thought Finnick was your brother" I say as a joke. She only cracks a smile.

"Yeah but Chris is my blood related brother. He left about 3 years after my dad died. I was only 13 and prim was about 9. He thought that mom was going to help us I mean she was physically there but mentally she was in her own world. I had to work 3 jobs and it was really hard for me to find a job since I was only 13. But about 2 years and a half later mom married Plutarch. I told prim that Chris had some important work to do. She thought he was doing something awesome. I was so mad at him but yet everyday I wished he would back." She says and I can see she is holding back tears. I can't believe he did that.

"Katniss you can cry" I reassure her. She shakes her head.

"I don't like to" she says.

"But you want to" I say and she burys her head into my chest. I hear sniffing and I put my hand on her chin to make her look at me and I see her eyes red and puffy. I hug her tight and kiss her temple. He cuddle for awhile until we both get hungry. She gets up but slowly goes back to the bed.

"Are you sleepy?" I ask.

"I just really like to cuddle, but I am hungry" she whines. I chuckle. I carry her in bridal style and she looks pretty happy. We get downstairs and I put her down.

"What do you want to eat?" She asks.

"I don't know" I say.

"Well I have some left over cheese buns" she says. "Or do you want some bagels......." she says trailing off because she knows I hate bagels. Bagels were made in the devils oven.

"Cheese buns" I say happily.

"Yay" she says and puts the cheese buns in the microwave. About 25.578267 seconds later we hear a ding and the cheese buns are ready. Katniss put 4 in the microwave. So I grab 2 abs she grabs 2 I am half way done my first one when she is already done both.

"Katniss how do you eat do fast?" I ask amazed.

"It's a gift" she says and takes a bite of my cheese bun. When I am done we choose to watch a movie. Katniss wanted to watch a horror movie. To be honest I am not a big fan of horror movies but I don't want to look like a wussy so I said yes. We are watching a movie called Halloween. It's about some sicko serial killer who kills his sister at six years old and goes to a mental hospital and escapes and so other stuff happens. I never watched it though. Katniss said it's not that scary. We go to the screening room. Five seconds into the movie abs he killed his sister. I was a little sacred but I didn't show it. I few minutes later a scary part comes on and I jump up. Katniss looks at me and smiles. She grabs my wrist and pulls me close to her. She sits on my lap and cuddles close to me. We watch the rest of the movie and I got scared but Katniss only got slightly startled a few times. When the movies over we cuddle close to each other and she gives me small kisses. I smile into the kisses. I don't know how I got this lucky.
