I wake up to a lazy Saturday morning. Usually, Saturdays would be reserved for extra long filming days. But Brad gave us the weekend off for all of our hard work.

I had just settled on the couch with my morning smoothie watching NCIS when my cell began to ring.

It had been a long night so I had left it in my purse on the table by the door.

I have to rush over and fish it out before seeing who's calling.

The caller ID reads:
Unknown Caller

I slowly put it up to my ear and answer curiously, wondering who's on the other end of the line.

"Hello...?"

"TAISSA!!!" I hear a shout.

It's so loud I have to pull the phone away from my ear when it hits me.

But despite how loud it was, it was instantly recognizable.

Evan

I smile as hear him laugh.

"Are you awake?" he asks. I can imagine his smirk.

"Well I am now." I chuckle back.

"Who's phone are you calling me from?" I ask remembering I had his number but the caller ID had read Unknown Caller.

"My cousin Tyler...in Cincinnati!"

He screams the last part in excitement. I furrow my brow before asking,

"Why are you in Ohio?"

"Oh, I won't be for long. I'm leaving as soon as I get off the phone. I'm coming to pick you up. I just had to tell you good morning first." he quickly adds it all in one breath.

"Wait. What did you say?" I ask getting confused for a second. Maybe I shouldve had coffee instead this morning.

"I had to tell you good morning first...?" he slowly asks.

"No. Before that. Are you picking me up for something?" I ask wondering if I actually heard it or if I was just losing my mind.

But he laughed before replying,

"Yes. I am. We are attending the Cincinnati Reds game today. At 4:00 PM. I'm headin out soon to pick you up. We can stay in my cousin's guest house while wer there."

"Wait. Hold on a second. You got us tickets to see the Reds...today?" I ask getting excited.

"Yup. At 4:00 PM. Listen, we can talk more later. We'll probably stay for a few days. Pack up. I'll be there in a few hours. See you soon." he sounds rushed.

"Okay. Ev?" I calm down for a minute.

"Yeah?" he asked waiting for my response.

"Thank you. So much. Really. You're the best."

I hear a pause and wonder how he'll reply. When he does I know there's a big smile on his face. Almost as big as mine.

"I know." he laughs and we hang up after saying bye.

I wasn't bothered that he didn't respond as serious as I did. That's just who he is. Always joking around and living every second of his life to the fullest.

And I hoped I would continue being a part of it.
