Chapter 12 - Quality time

“I’m just picking up Matt, we are going out to your grandmothers tonight” he told me, oh that’s weird they don’t normally go out there too often

“Oh um whys that?” I asked

“oh we are just having some lunch that’s all, you were invited but it looks like you busy” My dad said gesturing towards Alex

“Ah right, Dad this is Alex, Alex this is my dad Neil” I introduced them

“Nice to meet you” Alex said shaking my dad hand

“So where’s Matt?” I ask to avoid any awkward conversations

“I’m right here! Why do you ask?” Matt said coming down the hallway

“Just wondering” I said as he pulled me into a side hug

“Oh Amberley already introducing Alex to the folks this must be getting serious pretty quickly” Matt joked

“Oh Go away Matthew, not my fault dad is here” I retorted

“Well anyway, we should get going Matt, ill talk to you later Amberley” my dad said as him and Matt left.

“So ah you can just wait here, ill just quickly get changed” I told Alex as I made my way to my bedroom. I was as quick as I could be, I just grabbed a pair of white ripped skinny jeans and a purple long sleeve top with my leather jacket and a pair of high tops, simple but nice.

“Ready to go I said as I walked back into the lounge room?” Alex was staring at me again.

“defiantly, by the way you look really good” awh! I liked it how he gave me complements even though I wasn’t really trying. I just threw my hair up in a messy bun and put on a little eyeliner. I smiled at him and grabbed his hand again and we made our way to the door.

We spent the day wondering around Van City, eating, talking and just having fun. It was about 5 when I got a text from Matt, I didn’t realised it was already that late.

“So that was Matt he’s not coming home tonight” I told Alex

“Ah-k, so do you have any plans than?” he asked sounding kind of nervous. I thought it was cute.

“Well I was thinking maybe you might want to come over and watch a movie and have Chinese with me?” I asked he instantly smiled.

“That sounds great!” he said, as we started the walk towards my place picking up Chinese on the way.

“So what movie are we going to watch?” Alex yelled from the lounge room, I was just in the kitchen getting us some cokes

“Umm your choice” I said a little bit more quietly as I made my way back into the lounge room

“Okay what about this?” he said pulling out transformers 2

“Perfect!” I said as I sat down next to him on the couch and started my dinner from the takeaway container. Alex sat next to me and picked up his dinner too.

“Yours looks good” I stated

“Wanna try some?” my only answer was to stick my fork in his container and take some. It was good! Garlic chicken. He then stole some of my sweet and sour pork. We finished dinner and continued watching the movie. After a while, it was getting somewhat boring. So I decided to see if he felt the same.
