Cassidy's POV:

Harry and Ron left the hospital wing first thing on Monday morning and me being me, avoided seeing them by hanging out with the Ghost Gang who happened to be sitting at the Ravenclaw table today.

"Do you plan on getting back with him?" Circe asked sympathetically as Harry and the others entered the Great Hall.

"I...I don't think it would be good," I replied quietly.

She nodded her head before Rene began talking about the upcoming charms test. The rest of the day was rather dreadful, like most days since the break-up.

It doesn't help that I also have a shit ton of responsibilities on my shoulders between saving as many people as I can from a fucking war and being a teenager with friends and feelings.

Why the fuck can't life just be fucking normal?

No, I have not sulked in my dorm eating ice cream or ranting about Harry to Hermione. Nope. Instead, I have hidden my head in books from the stupid phoenix one to the Hunger Games (props to the come-and-go room).

Hanging out in the common room later that Monday night, I talked with Ron and Hermione, remembering that Harry was having a lesson with Dumbledore tonight.

"Can you tell us what happens?" Ron asked me while we did our homework.

I thought about it for a moment. "I guess it wouldn't hurt"

They both glanced at each other and put down their homework.

"So, Dumbledore is showing Harry Riddle's early life. He worked at Borgin and Burkes for a little while after Hogwarts and tried for the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher position but was denied. Ever since there hasn't been a permanent person for the job. It's believed among the fandom that a curse was placed on the job but we don't really know."

     "What?!" Ron exclaimed.

     "Really?" Hermione asked.

"Yeah," I shrugged my shoulders. "He shows Harry a little more but it doesn't really matter...it's really just the background of Riddle that leads to the hunt"

     "The hunt?" Hermione repeated.

I clenched my jaw. I hadn't thought about how much the Horcrux hunt would change since Harry and I broke up.
