Cassidy's POV:

"You could say sorry," suggested Harry bluntly.

It was the morning of Slughorn's party and we (Ron, Harry, and I) were all in the Great Hall and those who were staying over break were all there for the party that many people seemed to be excited for.

"What, and get attacked by another flock of canaries?" muttered Ron.

"Or you could stop being an idiot and realize that you hurt her feelings," I told him. He continued by taking a bite from his toast.

     "She laughed at my mustache!"

"So did I, it was the stupidest thing I've ever seen," Harry added on but it seemed as though he had not heard for Lavender had just arrived with Parvati.

Squeezing herself next to Ron, Lavender flung her arms around Ron's neck.

"Hi, Harry, Sid," said Parvati who looked faintly embarrassed and bored by the behavior of our two friends.

     "Hi," said Harry, awkwardly.

"How're you?" I cut in.  "You're staying at Hogwarts, then? I heard your parents wanted you to leave."

"I managed to talk them out of it for the time being," said Parvati.

"Have you talked to Padma recently?" Harry asked her.

I turned to him and raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I just talked to her a few minutes ago, why?" Parvati asked, glancing at me.

"I just wondered if she knew Ryder Rowell," Harry said nonchalantly. WHAT? Padma and Ryder?!

Parvati's mouth twitched up at the corners making me wonder if there was something going on between Padma and Ro...and how did Harry know?

"She may," Parvati said. "Oh...hi, Hermione"

"Hi, Parvati!" said Hermione, ignoring Ron and Lavender completely, and also not noticing my frozen features. "Are you going to Slughorn's party tonight?"

"No invite," said Parvati gloomily. "I'd love to go, though, it sounds like it's going to be really good...you're going, aren't you?"

"Yes, I'm meeting Cormac at eight, and we're-"

There was a noise like a plunger being pulled from a blocked sink and Ron surfaced. Hermione acted as though she had not seen or heard anything.

"-we're going up to the party together."

"Cormac?" said Parvati. "Cormac McLaggen, you mean?"

"That's right," said Hermione sweetly. "The one who almost became Gryffindor Keeper."

Harry glanced at me and leaned over. "Did you know about Mione and Cormac?"
