Jordan

My father and I spent another day in his office. I was learning my duties as an alpha and learning by doing is the best way. Way to go, Hippocrates! Said Oscar (my wolf) in my mind. Sheesh, Oscar, we are not going to be pack docs. I said. We haven't even found our mate yet. Oscar started pacing in my mind. We'll meet her today, I know it, he said.

Dad began losing his allies when they found out about our hostile behaviour toward the Chen family. He used to be allies with the packs that went to our shared school, Equinox, Solstice, Silver Crescent, and Scarlet Moon Packs. Dad was always suspicious of the Chen family, especially their youngest daughter, Alexine. She supposedly hadn't shifted yet but dad is suspicious as to why she never goes to training. At the age of 16 everyone is required to train, but Alexine never did. Her parents said that she didn't want to and that she was a pianist. That kinda sus. Looks like there's an imposter among us!

My mother always defended them and said dad was too paranoid. Dad retaliated by interrogating Mom in front of the whole pack, then Alexine. Alexine humiliated him in front of the whole pack and Mom denied knowing anything. Mom always came to her rescue. It seems like they're either spies or they're hiding something from us.

When Alexine was 16 her sister was rejected by our then-delta's son. There was a rouge attack the next month and the delta, Cole and his son Dominic died. The delta female, Natasha, had died from complications after having Dominic many years back. Subsequently, it was passed to Emilia Wu, Mom's sister. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly after she gave birth to twins Theo and Chelsea. Brian was Emilia's mate but after she died he found his second chance mate, Athena Kendall, and had another set of twins, Leslie and Kelsie. Those twins are friends of Alexine.

Today was Alexine's birthday, meaning she would find her mate. I haven't found my mate yet, but she better not be my mate. Dad told me he would be having a pack meeting tonight. He was announcing a long-distance alliance with Twoset Pack in Brisbane. He is friends with Alpha Brett and Alpha Eddy. I always thought that pack is strange but I never commented.

I spent the rest of the day with my dad, filling out paperwork with him and revising training and patrolling schedules.

At the meeting, I saw the Chen family sit near the back. At least they knew their place. Oscar was yipping in my brain that Alexine was his mate. I mentally facepalmed. After the meeting, the alpha requested to have a word with them after the meeting. Afterwards, they came to us. I stared at Alexine, and not waiting for my dad to start, and began, "My dad would have banished you or made you omegas a long time ago had it not been for the werewolf council's law or my mother who wouldn't let us-"

"Wow, so you really do hate me that much." said my mom sarcastically.

My dad gasped. "Jordan, if you speak like that about your mother, you will not be respected as an alpha." he said sternly.

I noticed a slight smirk on Alexine's face.

"Bipolar much dad. I can't be mates with such low and filthy blood. Maybe you are weak, that is why you never go to training!" I spat.

"Therefore I will reject you. I thought you were lying but my dad always thought I'd never lie. You are too weak to be a Luna! A Luna that never went to training is a disgrace to a pack. I, Jordan Zhang, to-be alpha of Silver Clouds Pack, reject you, Alexine Chen, as my mate and future Luna."

Oscar snarled. How dare you reject our mate! How did I get stuck with such a blind human!?
I ignored his comments.

She held a blank expression. "I don't really care about the rejection since I reckoned that would happen. The thing is, you really aren't using your brain. However, I will do as I feel best. At least I used my brains to say the rest. I, Alexine Chen, reject your rejection, Jordan Zhang."
