Fifty-eighth Chase 

Wedding Day. 

Breathe in, breathe out.

Maglalakad lang naman ako papunta sa altar, Ilang beses na kaming nagpractice para dito. Pero bakit hanggang ngayon, kabadong kabado pa rin ako? Iba siguro talaga pag yung totoong bagay na.

Tumingin ako kay Mama na nasa tabi ko at ngumiti siya sa'kin.

Breathe in, breathe out. 

I looked up. I looked at the stars. And I can't help but smile.

He's right.

It really is a good idea to get married under the stars dahil kung nenerbiyusin man ako, tulad ngayon, titingan lang ako sa langit at magiging kalmado na ko ulit. That's all I have to do to remember the countless times we spent with these stars. All the memories, the stories, the laughs, the tears, the smiles, the hugs, the kisses... every piece of our love story, connected like constellations.

Nagbago yung tugtog. Oras na para ako naman yung magmartsa, papunta sa altar, papunta sa kanya.

Humawak ako kay Mama at tumingin sa harap. 

I saw him standing in front of the altar. I saw how his eyes shined when he saw me. I saw the loving smile that brightened his face. 

At doon pa lang, I felt like crying already. I can't believe I'm finally marrying him.

My personal star.

I remember how he described the stars before. Hindi mo laging nakikita, pero laging nandiyan. Ganon siya sa'kin. He never left my side. Not when I pushed him away. Not when I betrayed him. Not when I hurt him. Kahit pa hanggang ngayon hindi ako makapaniwala, that someone who shines as bright as he does loves me that way. And I'm really thankful for that.

I smiled and he smiled back at me and everything felt right.

He really is my star.

[1] "Charm! Charm, ano ba! Tumigil ka nga sa kakatakbo!" May mga brasong yumakap sa'kin mula sa likod at pumigil sa'kin sa pagtakbo papunta sa buffet table. "Napaka-pasaway mo talaga, Misis." Napangiti ako nung marinig ko yung boses nung asawa ko. Umikot ako at hinarap ko siya.

"Eh nagugutom na nga kasi kami ni baby. Gusto mo bang magutom kami ng anak mo ha?" Hinawakan ko pa yung lumalaki ko nang tiyan para ipakita yung ibig kong sabihin.
