Y/n's POV

I stood in front of the gigantic building, staring up at its towering glass walls. My stomach fluttered as I thought about what was about to take place.

The UA entrance exam.

I sighed as I started walking towards the intimidating school, stealthily dodging the numerous others that were here.

I took a deep breath.

"Here we go," I whispered to myself quietly, mentally prepping myself.

Stepping into the exam room and sitting down silently, I got ready for one of the most important exams I will ever take.

I took a deep breath of the fresh air, closing my eyes and savouring the sweet scent as I filled my lungs with oxygen.

"How did you think you did?" I heard a voice beside me.

I turned and saw a boy my age with red spiky hair and teeth that looked somewhat like... shark teeth?

He looked a little scary, but upon further inspection, I found that his eyes carried kindness.

"Um, I think I did okay, it was a little difficult though. You?" I answered somewhat timidly.

"I think I passed, but dammmmnnnnnn some of those questions were hard!" He exclaimed.

I didn't really want to have a conversation with anyone right now, so I decided to just leave it at that.

"Uh I have to go now, maybe see you later at the practical exam?" I told shark boy while walking away, earning a smile and wave from the latter.

I put in an earbud, cranking up the volume but making sure that I could still hear what was happening in the real world.

"You better make it in... or else"

I shivered as my father's words replayed in my head.

I forged on, wanting to make it home before dark.

"Get up!"

"Move faster!"

"Dodge!"

"Jump!"

"Worthless."

"Pathetic."

"Weak."

I shook my head, trying but to no avail to get rid of his voice echoing inside of me.

I was so involved in my own thoughts, I didn't even realize I had stopped in front of my house.

I looked up at the two-story contemporary building. It was a sort of boxy house. The walls were painted a milky white, with streaks of brown peaking through between the windows. The roof was made of black tiles, finishing the look.

I sighed as I took out my keys, unlocking the door and closing it behind me as I entered my home.

...my prison.

A/N: Welp, there's my first chapter! It's really short and it sucks but that literally took me so long I don't even know why.

See you at the end of the next chapter!
