McKenzie POV
"Come on Kenz, let's go!" My best friend Maria said.
"I'm coming!" I called as I gave myself one more
glance in the mirror before leaving.
I think my friend is just a tad bit excited to get there.
Who am I kidding? So am I.
Ok, I'm babbling so let me stop here and explain a few things.
First of all, my name is McKenzie.
I have a best friend named Maria.
And she is one lucky girl because she is dating Richard Sherman, cornerback for the
Seattle Seahawks.
Like I said, very lucky indeed.
Anyway, Maria and I are currently getting ready to go to the Seahawks to watch Richard
practice.
I am fairly close to him as well.
After all, he is dating my best friend, so therefore that makes him one of my best friends.
So I must say that I am just as excited as Maria to go to the practice.
However, I also have a confession to make.
Folks, I am very close to Richard but I must admit that he is NOT the whole reason that I am
excited.
I have another reason and I'll explain it right now.
I, McKenzie Carter, have a HUGE crush on Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the
Seahawks.
And when I say huge, I mean the size of Texas, an elephant, or anything else big that may cross your mind.
And can you really blame me?
I mean, look at the guy, he is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous.
Who am I kidding though? I am sure that he doesn't even know that I exist.
And even if he did, he probably would not like me anyway.
(Sigh) I might as well live in a dream world.
Russell POV
"Ok, guys, break time." Coach Carroll said to us.
I sighed as I sat down on the bench for a few minutes.
"Awesome" Richard said, with a smile."Time to go visit with my girl."
I smiled and looked over at his girl Maria and could not help but stare.
Not at Maria, folks, don't get the wrong idea.
I am talking about the girl standing there with her.
Woah, Talk about gorgeous.
"Hey wait a minute" I said Richard before he left to go over there.
"Yeah,man?"
"Who is that girl with Maria?"
"That's her best friend, McKenzie." Richard said. "Why?"
"Oh...no reason" I said,even though I could feel my face burning.
However there was no fooling Richard. He looked at me and smirked. "Don't tell me no reason,man. You like her."
I didn't say anything which really gave me away.
"Dude, why don't you go over there and talk to her?" Richard asked.
"I don't know." I said.
He looked at me and shook his head."Man, you are a damn chicken."
I gave him a look but we both know it's true.
Richard spoke up,again. "Well, my baby girl is waiting. I'll talk to ya in a few, chicken shit."
I gave him another look which caused him to laugh and pat me on the back.
He then started to walk off but before he turned around and said."Don't forget about my pool party tomorrow night."
I smiled."of course not,man."
With that, he took off over to where Maria and that beautiful girl were standing.
I sighed. Why do I have to be so damn shy?
I guess I am just meant to be alone.
McKenzie POV
"Are you sure I look all right?" I asked Maria, as we got out of the car at Richard's house.
I was wearing a brand new sundress that just bought today.
"Girl, you look gorgeous." Maria said, with a smile as we walked to the back of the house,where the pool was.
"Thanks" I said, smiling.
"Hey, there's my girl." Richard said, walking toward us.
At least at I think that is what he said.
I am honestly not completely sure because I could not help but stare at that beautiful man
that is with him.
Yes, I am talking about Russell.
However, my thoughts were interrupted when I heard Richard talking again.
"So,......" He said, looking at Russell and then at me."Since you two have the hots for each other, why don't I introduce you?"
Oh.My.God.
"W-What?" I asked.
"Aww come on, it's obvious you two want to jump each other's bones." He said, smirking.
At that moment, Russell gave him a look as if he could murder him.
Before anything could be said, Maria smiled at us.
"Excuse us" she said, grabbing Richard by the ear and dragging him off.
"Ow Ow Ow Ow!!!!" He complained as she took him away from us.
I could not help but laugh.
I then glanced at Russell and saw that he was laughing too.
"T-They are so funny." I said, nervously.
"Yeah they are." He said, blushing a little.
We both stood there smiling at each other for a minute.
I was about to get nervous, not knowing what to say next,when all of a sudden he spoke up
and stuck out his hand."I'm Russell."
I smiled and shook his hand."I'm McKenzie."
"Well, McKenzie, it is very nice to meet you." He said.
"Same here."
Russell then looked at me and smiled."Would you like to go out sometime?"
Woah! Breathe McKenzie.
"S-Sure" I said, sounding a little shaky but I don't think he noticed.
"Awesome" He said, with a smile.
The next thing I knew he took me by the hand and we went to sit down together to talk.
I can't believe.
I'm going on a date with the guy of my dreams.
This is definitely the best party I have ever been to.
