I couldn't help but chuckle under my breath as I watched Filch run through the great hall with his usual odd running style, I looked left and right of me and realised not many other people were laughing, Harry looked more concerned about why he was running and Ron and Hermione shared the same confused look, all with their eyebrows furrowed as they watched, I stoped smiling and went along with everybody else,

Filch reached professor dumbledore at the top of the great hall and whispered into his ear, to quiet for anyone to hear, even the students at the front of each house table, dumbledore had his eyebrows furrowed as he listened, his lips slightly parted at what he was listening to, Filch eventually stopped and then proceeded to run back up the great hall and out of the room, leaving us sitting there for a few seconds in silence before we moved our attention back to the bearded professor at the front of the room.

"So hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event. The tri-wizard tournament." The hair at the back of my neck spiked up at the words coming out of dumbledores mouth, I was intrigued to say the least,

"Now for those of you who don't know, the Tri-Wizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school, a single student is selected to compete, Now let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone" the room went quiet, still, silent, as we all listened closely,

"And trust me when I say these contests aren't for the faint hearted, but more of that later, for now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy Of Magic and their headmistress Madam Maxine"

And as the words left dumbledores mouth, the great hall doors opened once again, but this time a group of girls, dressed in silky blue dresses danced their way through the aisle, they released blue birds up into the sky, as they gracefully made their way to the front of the hall, my eyes caught the attention of what must be the equivalent of dumbledore for the Beauxbatons girls, madam Maxine walked through the halls, and I could tell everyone was thinking the same,

"Blimey, that's one big woman" I hear seamus whisper loudly towards Ron,

"And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of durmstrang and the high master Igor Karkaroff" dumbledore speaks with his arms out wide, introducing the next school to walk through the doors.

A series of older looking boys walked through the hall, their walk was intimidating and powerful, their gaze was straight in front, not getting distracted by any of the other students that had their mouths gaped open by their entrance,

They banged their staffs against the floor hard, releasing sparks and creating an echo effect through the room, they twisted and spun their staff as they made their way to the front,

"Blimey it's him, Victor Krum!" Ron speaks, as he was shocked at how close he was to him, the Durmstrang boys at the front breath fire from their mouths, making the hall stay still and filling the room with a wave of warmth.

Albus and the headmaster of Durmstrang greet each other with open arms, smiles upon their faces.

"Your attention please! I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the Tri-Wizard Tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks"

"Wicked" I hear Fred whisper, more to himself then to anyone else,

Everyone sat up from their seats, eager to hear more about this competition, their eyes caught onto dumbledore.

"For this reason, the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule, to explain all this we have the head of the department of international magic cooperation mister Bartimus Crouch."

Thunder immediately starts crashing down from the roof, rain starts to leak through the roof and screams break out amongst the students, a strange man appears from the door way behind the professors table and he casts a spell up towards the roof, equally making it stop, and peace was restored.

"Bloody hell, it's mad eye moody" Ron speaks, his lips slightly parted and faint lines form on his forehead as he spoke,

"Alastor moody?" Hermione questions, "as in the aura?" I ask as well, as we all looked his way,

"He was a catcher." Ron corrects hermione and I, "half the cells in Azkaban are full thanks to him. He's supposed to be mad as a hatter though these days" Ron continued,

I looked at the stranger closer, he was bigger then most people and had a mechanical eye that seemed to have its own imagination, it's own movements. He was breathing rather heavier as he walked towards dumbledore and greeted him.

He moved backwards into more of a shadow part of the hall and took out a rather strange bottle, he quickly took a sip and licked his lips rather aggressively,

"What do you suppose he's drinking?" I ask, as our eyes were all on him.

"I don't know, but I don't think it's pumpkin juice" Harry speaks with a hint of caution and confusion in his voice.

Our attention quickly drawn back to the front of the room, making us quickly forget about the strange man and our eyes focused on Barty,

"After much deliberation the ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the Tri-Wizard Tournament. The decision is final." He spoke rather quietly but still loud enough for everyone to hear, he spoke like he was bracing for any sort of criticism he was about to receive.

The students turned from silence to a loud abomination of chatter, the room filled with shouting and aggressive arms waving in the air,

"That's rubbish! You don't know what your doing" George shouts over the crowd, his long ginger hair flowing as he spoke,

"Silence" Dumbledore roared, his loud voice echoed through the hall, the chatter slowly turned into silence,

Dumbledore gets out his wand and casts magic over a box which slowly burned down, revealing a goblet containing a blue flame,

"The goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the Tournament merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if chosen there's no turning back. As from this moment, the Tri-Wizard Tournament has begun"
