"I can't believe this is all so real" Amanda mumbled

"I can't believe you took down Thorin in one move" Fiona giggled. Amanda laughed "well he deserved it! I think I'm in his bad books now though" she said thoughtfully.

"Well it's your own fault. Just try to keep out of his way and don't flip him again" Fiona warned her friend. Amanda smirked "No promises" she warned. Fiona rolled her eyes and shook her head "jeez" she mumbled. Amanda smiled at her

"you know, he seems to like you" she said low so only she could hear. Fiona went red in the face and shook her head "Nada! He does not!" She squealed quietly. Amanda laughed "ok ok but at least your in his good books" she said. Fiona laughed nervously until her lips curled into a little smirk "Kili has a thing for you. He can't stop looking at you" she said slyly. Now it was Amanda's turn to blush

(Thorin pov)

"A mystery those two are I must say" Balin said out of the blue. I looked to him then back to the two girl conversing with my nephews "it seems so, I have to admit, the brunette is a strong one" I mumbled cracking my neck from that attack.

"They seem like good lassies, maybe keep your boys in check" he chuckled. A small smile stretched to my face "possibly, they seem to like them which is rare."

"Aye....oh, it seems we have lost our hobbit" he sighed. I noticed the hobbit walk away past the girls and boys.

" Probably for the best. The odds were always against us. After all, what are we? Merchants, miners, tinkers, toy-makers; hardly the stuff of legend."

"There are a few warriors amongst us." I pointed out

"Old warriors." Balin sighed. I smiled.

"I will take each and every one of these dwarves over an army from the Iron Hills. For when I called upon them, they came. Loyalty. Honor. A willing heart. I can ask no more than that." I said honestly

Balin sighed and shook his head "You don't have to do this. You have a choice. You've done honourably by our people. You have built a new life for us in the Blue Mountains, a life of peace and plenty. A life that is worth more than all the gold in Erebor." He said

I held out the key that Gandalf had given me earlier.

"From my grandfather to my father, this has come to me. They dreamt of the day when the dwarves of Erebor would reclaim their homeland. There is no choice, Balin. Not for me" I said in heroics ness. I will stop at nothing to regain our home land....

Balin nodded in defeat "Then we are with you, laddie. We will see it done."

I gave a nod and once again glanced at the women who would be joining us. I couldn't help but stare at the smaller girl. Fiona I believe her name was. So small and sly, yet has a happy personality. Her words of encouragement earlier were nice to hear.

I hope to see what she can do on the quest. The other one however I'll be keeping an eye on

Such a temper she has....

(Normal pov)

"Ok Quit it. Let's head over to the living room" Amanda mumbled. Fiona nodded and walked with her to the living room where they sat down with the others. It was very peaceful with everyone chattering together and smoking their pipes until they started humming.

It was Erie and beautiful. Fiona leaned against Bofur and closed her eyes as Thorin sang

"Far over the misty mountains cold

To dungeons deep and caverns old

We must away ere break of day

To find our long-forgotten gold

The pines were roaring on the height

The winds were moaning in the night

The fire was red, it flaming spread

The trees like torches blazed with light"

When he was done he sat down and continued puffing his pipe.

"Can you two sing?" Ori asked innocently to Amanda and Fiona. The said girls looked at each other "weeeell yes we can but..." Amanda began

"Awe sing us a wee tune. Pleeeeease" Bofur begged with the puppy eyes. Amanda sighed and looked to Fiona silently begging her to do it. Fiona smiled and sat up

"Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night

Calling out father oh
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side

And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time

Calling out father oh
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

"That was beautiful" Balin whispered.

"Did you make that up yourself?" Nori asked curiously. Fiona nodded, figuring it was fine since none of the songs they knew existed here.

"Beautiful..." Thorin had mumbled while glancing at the tired girl. The dwarves began to settle down to sleep wherever they could find spots. Amanda slept in between Fili and Kili who had manovered her to a comfortable position. Her head was on. Kili's lap while her feet rested on top of Fili's lap. Fiona was sitting next to Bofur and had laid her head against his shoulder while his laid on top of her own head. Gandalf let out a soft chuckle, knowing those two were going to be the best of friends on this quest.

He didn't know why, but there was something about them that wasn't so human about them. A silver shine from Fiona's neck caught his gaze and he looked closer to find her wolf pendant shining. He looked over to Amanda and saw the Phoenix pendant glimmer with the fire light. His eyebrows rose "oh my...this shall be interesting" he chuckled before dozing off to sleep...
