Oh, and beware. The scene at the end is a bit steamier than my other ones...

CHAPTER FOURTY

*Where is this friend then?* she asked

She turned to see a reddish wolf walk out. Lawson nodded, and she came closer towards them.

The wolf shook her head, and then looked up at the alpha rogue again.

*He isn’t here.*

Santana felt that bad feeling becoming worse by each passing second.

It’s probably Damon.

She knew she had to protect him, even if he did something so horrendous and evil. He was part of her pack, a friend. The light that saved her from the darkness that was consuming her. She would bring back the old Damon no matter what.

Taking a step towards the alpha rogue she growled *we outnumber you. Here’s my advice: leave and stay the hell out of our territory. If you don’t, then I’m sure we won’t be as nice. Do you understand?*

He just stared at her, and then looked around at her pack. They were strong wolves, built from birth to fight and protect. The only smaller wolf was her. Even Xavier’s wolf was bigger than hers. Nodding, he slowly backed away. The female wolf freaked, growling viciously. They looked as if they were having a conversation, and then she flashed her angry eyes at her gold ones. Without warning she jumped on top of her white wolf. She didn’t see it coming. Nova pushed the female wolf off quickly, but Santana didn’t want him to. She craved to fight this female and all of these rogues for being a threat to her pack. Pushing him out of the way, she latched her teeth onto the girl’s back. None of the rogues interfered which she was thankful for.

Her teeth pinned the reddish wolf down to the ground, using her claws to scratch the wolf’s side. Their snarls echoed throughout the forest. A voice erupted into her head *Please don’t kill me! You have no idea what it feels like losing a mate!*

She froze. Shoving the girl back towards the rogues, she mind linked the girl. *I hope I never have to. Now go, don’t come back.*

Whimpering, she limped away. Lawson stared at Santana closely; still admiration in his eyes?

*We’ll meet again baby girl,* was all he said before running off, leading the rogues.

Nova turned to her furious. *Don’t defy me like that again. I was trying to protect you!*

Santana nodded, not wanting to fight. She then walked towards Hadyn, whose eyes widened.

*Damn girl, you’ve only started training for how long and you can take on a rogue and push Nova away at the same time?!*

Everyone stared at her in awe. She protected a pack member from harms way and that was all that mattered. Santana had just earned their respect and gratitude. She now had a feeling that they’d let her come along with them in the future.

Swaying her hips, she turned back towards the village. *Where do you think you’re going?* Nova yelled.

*Home,* she stated in a lazy voice.

After setting up protection forces, he walked back with her. Hadyn and Tate followed along with five other wolves. It took about two hours for them to return, and Santana wasn’t happy to come home to a messed up bedroom.

Nova shifted in front of the pack house to open the door. She snarled at this, as she didn’t want others to see his body. Shifting back into her human form, she hid him from prying eyes. He chuckled.

When they walked up to their room, he pulled her along to a different one at the end of the hall. All her shopping bags were in it, and she smirked. Tonight, was going to be spent having make up sex, and she craved his touch desperately. Rocking her hips back and forth, she paraded into the bathroom. It looked like the old one, with the cool moss carpet she liked so much.

She felt his presence behind her, pretending indifference. He reached out to touch her, but she moved away. Lifting her leg over the tile bridge on the floor, she closed the glass door and then bent down to turn on the water. While waiting for it to get warm, all her thoughts were on what would happened next. She snickered to herself as he just stood outside of the shower, staring.

The door opened, and then she was up against the wall in a second. His naked body pressed up into hers roughly. Her body fit right with his, like they were made for each other. She turned her head, looking away. He didn’t like that, and pulled it back with his strong hand. She wanted to play this game longer with him. Looking away from his intense stare, all she got was a loud growl from him. His mouth pressed against hers, moving passionately, and hungrily.

Her lips became sore from all the kissing. She moaned, wrapping her arms around his neck giving in. Without warning, his hand reached down to her core, and stayed there. Thrusting his long finger, she panted, missing his touch. The hot steam swarmed around them, fogging up the glass door.

Grabbing her legs, he wrapped them around his hips. She thought he was going to make love to her, but he didn’t do anything. She opened her eyes, and suddenly he thrust, hard. Screaming out in pleasure, he continued until they couldn’t go anymore form pure exhaustion. Carrying her out into the room, legs still wrapped around his hips. All they wanted to do next was sleep. And they did, in each other’s arms. Santana was extremely happy, to be with her one true mate. Her heart beat faster more than ever, never loving anyone in her life as much as she loved him. She knew Nova felt the same.

Everything was just too amazing. Never in her life was she happy for this long.

Can love last forever?
