Yes, this is a short chapter! Sorry about that. It's just I'm getting confused with a lot of my notes that I've already made. At one point I was starting to write her name as "Alana," instead of "Santana." That's suppose to be my other character from my other story "Dark Smouldering Love."

Damn, I should stick to one story at once instead of four:3

If you are confused about anything, just comment and I'll answer! I'm not sure if I explained a bunch of things right...

CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

“So, you have three mates, and Landon is one of them?” Scarlett stated after Santana explained it to her.

“Yes,” she nodded.

“Wow, that’s awesome! Landon is supposed to be a bit of a player, but I know him to be a pretty nice guy.”

“You don’t seem to be shocked over how I have three mates. Or are you still in shock? And Landon is a total ass!” she snarled the last part.

“Well it’s possible, isn’t it? And what did Landon do to make you so red-faced?” Scarlett laughed.

“He practically tried to seduce me, and then he insulted me by talking about Nova like he never existed in my life. I can’t forgive someone for talking about my dead mate like that!”

Damon, who stood next to his mate, nodded. “I agree with you. If anyone talked bad about Nova, they’d be black and blue. He was the best friend I ever had, and the toughest guy,” he smiled, thinking of happier times.

“I’m just wondering, why me? Why do I have more than one mate?”

“Hmm, maybe phone your parents and see if they know about it?” Scarlett suggested.

Flipping out her cell, she looked into her contacts to find her mother’s name. Pressing send, she waited as the line buzzed through.

After ten seconds…

“Hi sweetie, we were just thinking about calling you!” her mother’s voice squealed happily.

“Hey mom, how are you and dad? The rogues still bad around that area?”

“We’re fine thanks, sweetie. Everything’s still the same, we lost a couple members today,” she said solemnly.

“Shit, I’m sorry to hear that,” she mumbled sadly.

“Hmm. everything okay there?”

“Yeah, well I just called to ask you something,” Santana looked around at her friends nervously. “Do you know anything about having more than one mate?”

“You mean like Nova and Derek? It’s rare, but possible to have two mates, don’t worry. Why?”

“Well I have three mates now,” she muttered.

“Ohh. Sweetie, I don’t know if I should tell you this, but I will. On my side of the family, there is a gene mutation, where only the females have gold eyes. And something about the females is alluring to certain males, who feel certain feelings towards them. Like you, with your mates, each is made differently for you. The stronger the feelings you have and feel for them, the more they fit with you. Like with Nova, it was strong. With Derek, not so much; another mate for him is out there somewhere, someone who really really fits him.”

“What the hell are you talking about? So you’re saying I’m some type of succubus?”

“No! You only attract certain males you see. The ones, who say they are your mate, really are your mate. It’s not false at all. I’m just saying that you are for sure Derek’s real mate, but someone out there fits him differently and could make him feel stronger feelings. It’s confusing, I never found out as my mother died earlier, so nobody was there to tell me. I read it all in her diary though.”
