🌈Chapter 50: Dream Job

~Ryujin's P.O.V~

After visiting Beomgyu at the hospital, I left and went to work with Yeji unnie. Sir JYP is still here at Daegu and he wants to talk to the both of us before Yeji unnie goes back to Seoul. I wonder what it is.

"Unnie, I feel nervous."

"Don't be, I'm sure it's good news." -Yeji

"Well I hope so."

We arrived at the building and went inside. I told the guard working there that Yeji unnie is with me so he let her in. We went to JYP's office still feeling nervous. I'm even shaking right now. We knocked on the door and went inside. I felt some nostalgia when we were first called by him back at Seoul before.

"Hello sir, you wanted to speak with us?"

"Yes, pls sit down. Do you want some tea?" -JYP

"N-no thank you. We're good." -Yeji

"Alright. So I called you two today because I would love to tell you some good and exciting news!" -JYP

"Really sir?!"

"Yes. I'll first talk to you Ms. Hwang. I'm loving your improvement and performance back at Seoul. So, I'm offering you a higher amount of salary since you deserve it." -JYP

"Tysm sir! I can't believe this..." -Yeji

*Chuckle*

"As for you Ms. Shin, I would like to speak to you privately." -JYP

"Of course sir! Unnie, can you go outside for a minute?"

*Nod* -Yeji

Yeji unnie left us here inside the room. What's the exciting news for me? But before that, I think Yeji unnie was calling the other girls and telling them about her good news outside the office.

~Third Person's P.O.V~

Yeji went outside and called the other girls who were left at the hospital with Beomgyu. She was so happy that they find her weird.

"Unnie, what's happening to you?" -Yuna

"It's either you're happy or just mentally malfunctioning." -Lia

"Yah! Choi Jisu! How dare you say I'm mentally malfunctioning!" -Yeji

"Well I mean she's right unnie..." -Chaeryeong

"Whatever. So here's the news... JYP offered me a higher salary for my hardwork!" -Yeji

"Wow! Congrats Yeji! I hope my boss notice my hardwork too..." -Lia

"Don't worry Lia. She'll surely will." -Yeji

"What about Ryujin? What's her good news??" -Chaeryeong

"Idk. They're still talking inside." -Yeji

While the four were talking through the phone, Ryujin went out to meet a happy Yeji excited to hear her good news.

"G-girls... Hello... Yeah, Ryujin's here." -Yeji

"Unnie! What's the news???" -Yuna

"JYP offered me something..." -Ryujin

"What is it??" -Yeji

~Ryujin's P.O.V~

~Flashback~

Yeji unnie left and JYP told me his good news.

"Shin Ryujin, I'm very happy on your performance. You know what, you're like my daughter and because you're very special to me just like Yeji, I would like to offer you something too..." -JYP

"Thank you sir. What is it?"

"Remember your interview before? I asked you which country you want to go and you said-" -JYP

"Iceland..."

"Well Ryujin, here's the exciting part, I'll be collaborating with a famous company there and I wanna send YOU as the representative of our company." -JYP

*Gasp*"Really?!"

*Nod*"Yes." -JYP

"OMG! Thank you sir! When will that be?"

"On July 7."

"W-what?"

My happiness faded away as I heard the words that came out of JYP's mouth. I'm going to my Iceland on the day of Beomgyu's wedding??

(Ryujin's other flashback)

"When's the wedding again?" -Yeonjun

"July 7, 2027..." -Yeji

"... I just wanna ask, will you attend the wedding?" -Beomgyu

"I'll attend the wedding. I promise."

(End of Ryujin's other flashback)

"July 7?"

"Yes why?" -JYP

"Is there any other date where I can go to Iceland besides July 7 sir?"

"I'm sorry Ryujin, but that's the only schedule I have for the collaboration." -JYP

"S-sir..."

"Yes?" -JYP

"I..."

"I rejected the offer."

"What?! Why??" -Yeji

"But Ryujin, isn't that your 'Number One Ultimate Dream Job'?" -Lia

"Yes I know unnie but..."

"But?" -Chaeryeong

"The flight will be on Beomgyu's wedding day."

"Then don't go! He's not even gonna marry you since he broke his promise." -Yeji

"No unnie, this time I made a promise to him that I'll attend the wedding!"

'Tsk! Stupid promises...' -Yeji

As expected from my friends, they still kinda hate Beomgyu for not keeping his promise to me but here I am, doing my best to keep MY ptomise to him.

"Why even bother keeping your promise if he didn't even keep his?" -Lia

"True." -Yeji

"Unnies, let's just support Ryujin unnie's decision." -Yuna

"Yeah... She knows what she's doing." -Chaeryeong

"Thanks."

After the call ended, Yeji unnie still has that disappointed expression towards me. She probably doesn't luke what I did but it already happened. I can't take it back anymore.

"I still can't believe you Ryujin. It's your dream!" -Yeji

"It's alright unnie. It's not like the end of the world ya know? I'll still go to Iceland. But not now."

*Sigh*"Fine." -Yeji

We separated ways and I went back to my office while Yeji unnie went back to the hospital. This was a big decision and sacrifice that I made. But I know, I did the right thing.
