2015, Earth.

No one's POV:

When everyone was in the lab, Bruce and Tony began going through their computers, only finding missing files of their work.

"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch." Bruce said.

"Ultron.." Steve repeated.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance; he probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Natasha said.

"He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodey asked.

"Nuclear codes." Maria stated as an example.

"Nuclear codes." Rhodey repeated. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can."

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Natasha said.

"He didn't say dead. He said extinct." Steve corrected.

"I'm not even sure what that means." Destiny said.

"He also said he killed someone." Clint added.

"But there was no one else in the building." Maria said.

"Yes there was." Tony contradicted.

He brought up an image of JARVIS, now completely broken apart.

"This is insane." Bruce said.

"Agreed." Destiny chimed in, nodding.

"JARVIS was the first line of defense. He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense." Steve said.

"No, Ultron could have assimilated JARVIS. This isn't strategy... this is rage." Bruce contradicted.

Thor suddenly approached Tony and grabbed him by the throat.

"Woah woah woah. It's going around." Clint said.

"Come on. Use your words, buddy." Stark said as Thor continued to hold him by the throat.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor replied angrily.

"Thor! The Legionnaire!" Destiny exclaimed.

"Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor explained.

"The genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron." Natasha commented.

"I don't understand..." Dr Helen Cho said. "You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?"

Instead of answering the question, Tony began to chuckle.

"You think this is funny?" Thor asked.

"No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so...is it so...it is. It's so terrible." Tony answered.

"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor angrily said.

"No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony said, contradicting his previous answer.

"Tony, this might not really be the time to..." Bruce began.

"Really?! That's it? You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls." Tony cut him off.

"Only when I've created a murder bot." Bruce argued.

"We didn't. We didn't even come close. We came close to an interface?" Tony said.
