~~~~~
Josh.
Hide me. Hide me now! Now!
"Josh..." I whispered.
Josh only stared at me and I can't fathom any expression from his eyes. He was only staring at me. His eyes blank.
"Hey, dude." Jess said from behind it.
Josh looked away from me and nodded once at Jess. He gave me one last look before going inside and not looking back even just once.
I swallowed back the lump in my throat and prayed that my eyes won't show how hurt I am that Josh had actually ignored me.
"Are you okay?" Jess asked. I realized I haven't moved a single inch ever since the door revealed Josh.
I forced a smile and nodded at Jess. "Yeah. I just realized I'm very hungry."
Jess laughed and took my hand. "Come on then. I don't want you starving."
~~~~~

"Are you sure you're okay?" Jess asked. We're back at school now and hiding out behind the clinic to have our lunch. Jess wanted to eat at the courtyard but I insisted we hide out somewhere.

I nodded and forced a pizza down my throat. After a few moments, I sighed. "Actually, I'm not."

"What's wrong? If you're still bothered about getting dismissed, I'm pretty sure you won't."

"That's not it. It's....I think I may have hurt Josh." I admitted.

"Hurt him? How? Don't tell me you threw a hook at him." Jess teased. And despite myself, I laughed.

"No." I rolled my eyes. "I sort of lied to him. Actually, I really lied to him. Straight at his face. And Josh hates liars. Really hates them. And besides, he was genuinely concerned about me." Just then, something snapped in me. "But then, why on earth should I be so concerned? After all it's not his business where I go. Yes, that's right!  What I do is not his business. He's not my boyfriend. That's right! Urgghhh! Why was I so worried! He's just Josh. He's not-"
