I Love You Too Much

Kurt screams in delight. Cher just picked out an outfit for him for prom!

Kurt and the girls are at a shop in Levett to find clothing for prom and also Nationals. The store is closed to outside customers.

Mercedes comes from behind a curtain. "Zip me up?"

He rushes to help her. "This is the coolest thing ever!"

She giggles. "We go shopping enough."

"Not as recently." He's sad as he gets the zipper all the way up. "But that's going to change. We have a ton of time before college."

"We do." She takes his hand.

He tears up a bit. "I love you, Cedes. Truly."

She tears up herself. "Don't make me cry."

"I can't help it. I almost lost you. I don't know where you're going next year-"

"Malibu." She interrupts.

His eyes grow. "You talked to your dad?"

She shakes her head. "Marcy did. She made it her condition for marriage."

"Marriage?"

She beams. "My brother and sister are getting married!"

He gasps.

"And Ellen. They have a lot of rules they have to follow but Marcy came up with rules of her own. One was that Mikey, Quinn and I could go anywhere in the world we wanted to."

He turns to eye the brunette mother, who's sitting in a corner as the others find outfits. He turns sad. "I feel like something's going on with her. She's helping all of us but no one's helping her."

Mercedes sees what he means. "I know. She doesn't want to talk about her pain. She has so much. I don't understand how she gets out of bed."

He hugs her as she cries.

Quinn and Tina walk over. "What's going on? Why are you crying?"

Tina gets excited. "We just spoke in unison!"

Mercedes and Quinn laugh.

Kurt shakes his head in mirth. "Tina, stop."

"Well we did." The former goth pouts.

Mercedes takes her hand to pat. "You did."

"Mercy, what's wrong?" Quinn smirks.

"Nothing."

"Then why were you crying?"

Mercedes pouts. "Look at Marcy."

The two newcomers look at the lonely birthday girl.

Tina's lips waver. "She looks so sad!"

"Maybe we should cheer her up?" Kurt suggests.

"What's Rachel doing?"

Rachel is making her way to Marcy.

Quinn narrows her eyes. "She better not say anything!"

"I think Little Diva out of everybody can stand up to Rachel." Kurt surmises.

Mercedes hopes that out of all the drama her sister's been through, she can.
