Alex's POV:
I got in the car and searched for my phone, fastly going through my contact's list and spotting Hope's name on the screen.
"Sunshine, have you got everything ready? I'm about to head home, remember we still have to make sure you're taking all you might need to college"
I heaved in a sigh and resting my hands on the steering wheel, noticing as my phone's screen lighted up right after a moment.
"Turner's Residence, Doggo speaking. Please, tell me how may I direct your call? My hooman sister's sleeping"
I frowned at the message I'd just received, intensely fixing my eyes on the picture attached with it. Duke was standing on the couch with his head tilted to a side, just as clumsy as he'd always been. I laughed to myself when I caught the hint of Hope's joke, but I still remained my composure.
"Off the couch, Hope. Now"
"I don't think I can do that, Duke has stopped working"
Again, I received Hope's answer faster than the first time, and just like before, an image of Duke was attached in her message. This time, he was face planted on the couch with his butt up, as his giant body could barely fit on it. He seemed to be deeply asleep, and I thought I could almost hear him snoring from where I was.
"If you don't get that dog off the couch, I'm confiscating your telescope" I warned.
"I hope you're happy, because Duke's surely mad at me. This was the look I got when I told him to get off the couch. Just so you know, he clearly disapproves"
I laughed when I got the last picture of Duke, in which he seemed to be rolling his eyes at my daughter. Those two had become inseparable.
"Thank you, sunshine. Tell Mum I'll be home in about twenty minutes"
