Bonus Chapter

Ominiscent

Once again and famously Honey found herself sitting on Tyrone’s couch, but this time in California. It had been roughly six months since she lost Zeke and to say she was okay was a complete lie. She was mess of emotions the first month to the point to where she couldn’t leave her apartment.  It took an hour long- get yourself together- lecture from Tyrone that she even decided to get out of bed.

Once she found her legs, she decided to change completely, inside and out. The first thing she did after she sold the club was pack up her shit and move down to hot ass Atlanta, Georgia. To step off the plane in to the humid heat felt like her first breath since the funeral. She found a cute two story house and even used the money to enroll herself into school to be that neurologist she always wanted to be. She knew she had at least ten years ahead of her to complete that degree but she was still young and could do it.

She even changed her appearance by saying no to weaves and rocking an asymmetrical bob with ombre highlights. She felt like a new woman on a path to a bright future and she had never been so excited. She had even gotten herself a small job as an office secretary with a boss who was obviously interested in her. Don’t get it wrong, her boss was everything and then some of chocolate goodness but she couldn’t stop picturing Zeke and that was what stopping her from even considering pursuing another relationship. At least for a while.

She watched Tyrone step out of his massive kitchen with two glasses in his hand filled to the top with expensive wine. She admired how far along Tyrone came. From what he had been telling her over the phone, he had become Executive Director at a major management company that he flew out here for. She looked around at all the expensive furniture and layout of his penthouse apartment and nodded her head in approval.

Tyrone handed over her glass and sat down on the other end of the white couch. Honey almost immediately smiled at the thought of the many times she found herself sitting on his couch venting about her problems. It was a joy to see that this time it was on a much lighter note and to catch up.

Tyrone mimicked her smile admiring the beauty sitting in front of him. From the minute she walked through the door, Tyrone couldn’t keep his eyes off the woman who had blossomed before him. She was as beautiful as the day he met her and that smile…that beautiful smile tugged at his heart but he knew whenever he looked into her eyes,  that she was still saddened by the death of Zeke and that made him frown.

“What’s wrong?” Honey asked concerned. Tyrone shook his head and quickly smiled. His love for Honey was something he was going to have to take to the grave.

“Nothing.” He said, once again putting his feelings off to the side.

Honey thought nothing of it and delved right into conversation after taking a sip of her wine.

“So, do you love it here?” She asked. “Did you get to go on the boardwalk and go to Hollywood?” She asked her facing lighting up with excited. “Oh my gosh, did you meet any famous people?!” Honey always wanted to come to California and meet the sexy stars of Hollywood. She wouldn’t know what she would do if she caught Channing Tatum walking down a street.

Tyrone laughed and smiled. It was an amusing smile and for some reason it touched something within her. “Yes, it’s pretty cool here. Niggas here a little stuck up but you know I’m from Westbrook so none of that shit faze me.” Honey rolled her eyes.

“You act like Westbrook is Oakland.” Tyrone scoffed.

“Shit, it might as well be!” They both broke out into laughter. “Naw, but seriously it’s fun. No, I haven’t met any famous people yet. You know it would be nice if you moved out here with me. We could be enjoying this together.” Honey missed the double innuendo and shrugged her shoulders looking down into her wine glass.

“You know I couldn’t. I had to get myself together after all that happened.” Honey began to drift past into the past and couldn’t stop the trembling of her bottom lip.

Tyrone nodded his head. He understood but he just wished she was by his side. He bit the bottom of his lip. He took the glass from her hands earning a look of confusion then placed his own on the coffee table. He scooted closer to her and took her into his arms for a tight hug. He wanted to let her know that he was and will continue to be there for her no matter what goes down without any words. If he could go back in time and would have gotten to the club sooner than he did, she wouldn’t be here in pain, but he was a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

Honey clung to his white v-neck shirt, burying her head in his hard chest. She thought she was over the pain and the loss, but the hole in her chest just wouldn’t go away. It was no doubt that she loved that man, but it was not being able to confess her love and say goodbye that was eating her alive. The pain was cut way too deep but she was getting by. This had been the first time in a few weeks since she cried. She was making small steps to progress. Her sobs slowed and quieted. Tyrone’s strong arms still never left around her and Honey felt completely at ease. She felt protected and his arms felt right. She had come to realize that after the phone conversation she had a few days ago about her coming to see him, she was beyond excited. She even wore a bright smile the entire week before that Saturday even getting stares from her employees and boss. It wasn’t until she met him at the airport and saw his face that she missed him entirely too much.

He had been with her through it all and she was more than grateful. She loved him for it. Was it as deep as her love for Zeke? She wasn’t too sure and honestly she was scared to know. She didn’t want to ruin their friendship and push him away if he didn’t feel the same way.

Tyrone kissed the top of her head and Honey lifted her head slightly. He then placed another kiss on her forehead and this time Honey looked into his eyes. The look in those chocolate eyes was almost taking her breath away. They were heart-warming and filled with emotion that she just couldn’t decipher but she didn’t need to, for he leaned his head down just a little bit so that Honey could feel his warm breath on her lips.

He hesitated. He wanted to know if this was what she wanted. He wasn’t one to take advantage of someone during their time of weakness but he couldn’t help it. He loved this girl and it was time he showed it despite how he felt a few seconds ago.

As if Honey knew what he was thinking, she looked at him through her eyelashes and slowly nodded her head.

That was his cue.

Tyrone pressed his lips against hers and Honey’s breath caught in her throat. She clung to his shirt, fisting it into her hands as Tyrone’s hand slipped to the middle of her back bringing her closer to him. He deepened the kiss his tongue tracing the outline of her lips. Just as he thought she tasted just as sweet as he imagined. She moaned against his lips and opened her mouth slightly, just so Tyrone could get his tongue pass. The kiss awakened something in Honey. It felt like an outright butterfly storm in the pit of her stomach that almost brought tears to her eyes. She couldn’t comprehend what it all meant to her but only that again, it felt right.

*throws a rose on zeke's grave* Ima miss Zeke but I've always wanted her with Tyrone from the beginning. And it was time to show that love..I hope no one thought I was throwing Zeke away too quick...thanks again for reading!
