"What's love got to do with it?"- Tina Turner

chapter|24|

Nova

Chris and I watched as Zeke walked out the door to head back downstairs. Teddy soon followed after him but not before dappin' up Chris. He paused when it became my turn for him to say bye, and hesitated.

"Nova."

"Teddy."

Despite us being in the plan together, I still thought he was a scumbag. He was a man that loved control and I was not going to let that happen in my plans.

With his cordial goodbye, he walked out closing the door behind him and finally I was alone with Chris.

Immediately Chris grabbed me into his arms and kissed my lips with a smile.

"This will be all over soon." He whispered against my lips while putting soft kisses in my hair.

And I couldn't wait. I impatiently waited for the day Chris and I could vacation in Barbados basking in the sun while we blew through millions of dollars and every liabilty was six feet under.

See, this plan was originally formed by Chris himself, unintentionally. Once I learned about his plan, I decided to simply merge mine with his. He wanted a way to get the most money out of his club and other assets. With out any worries. One night he told me of his wish and I encouraged that he turn it into reality. So he took out insurance on the strip club and planned to burn it to the ground, no questions asked.

But of course we had to do this the right way and that's where everyone else came in. Chris was ready to have this at any cost.

But I still never understood why he made Honey owner if he planned on destroying it.

Place blame maybe?

"Hey, you ok?" He asked me. He held my face in his hands and smiled. I nodded my head. Deep down I had my doubts. Was I really apart of his happily ever after? He damn sure wouldn't have a problem killing his own son.

After all Zeke was slipping through our fingers.

Would I be considered a liability?

"You know we could just burn this bitch down now. I have the gasoline-,"

I shook my head. "No, stick to the plan, we don't need to get anxious. We have to do this flawlessly."

He looked away contemplating and nodded his head. "Ok. You're right."
He looked back into my eyes and pulled me closer. "I love it when you get all bossy." He leaned into my neck and playfully kissed between my shoulder blade.

I couldn't help the giggling and paid no attention to the knocking at the door, but Chris did.

Quickly he pushed me aside almost making me lose my balance. I couldn't help but feel a little hurt that we still had to keep us a secret. We were two grown ass people who shouldn't care what others think. We've been secretly seeing each other on and off since I've worked at the bunny ranch. I was head over heels when we first met but he had to keep his facade even if that meant I was oblivious to him around others.

Something I couldn't always handle. I hated to admit it, but I was too attached.

"Come in." He called to the door.

The door opened and in walked, behold, Cassy. I fought the urge to roll my eyes. I had to remember and act like I wanted to be her friend again. I wanted the bitch dead and I couldn't wait till she was six feet under. Chris's plan was also another way for me to get even.

"Hey Big Poppa!" She greeted cheerfully before walking to give he a hug. I peeped when he held her longer than he should have before giving her ass a hard squeeze.

My blood boiled.

She squealed and playfully swatted his arm before calling him out on his gester. But she giggled and I knew this bitch loved it.

Before I regretted anything, I cleared my throat smiled when she looked my way too enthusiastic to give me a hug. She had reached out to me some weeks back and being the fake friend that I was, I accepted the friendship.

For a fraction of a second I felt guilty for all that I did to her im the past few months but that disappeared just as quickly as it came.

I gave her a brief hug. "Im sorry if I interrupted anything. What you doing here girl?" She asked while digging in her purse for something.

"Just talking to Big Poppa about me starting on Monday." She nodded her head and pulled out a tube of lipstick and a small hand mirror before applying it on. I had to admit, Cassy was very pretty and I was a little jealous. When we were kids, boys used to always go up to her first and I was always the rebound when she told they asses no.

She strategically put on the red lipstick and placed the strand of hair sticking out of her bun back.

"Why are you here?"

She smacked her lips and laughed a little apparently at an inside joke. "Had a wild night with Wallflower and Quincy. Just came to get my car. I saw Big Poppa's and wanted to say hi before I went home to lay down."

Chris raised his eyebrow. "Quincy was with y'all?"

Cassy nodded her head and he scoffed. He hated Quincy with a passion. He felt he was a wannabe thug with a wack ass career for a rapper. The streets would eat him alive and feed his bones to the wolves, his words not mine.

"So I'm guessing you ran into Zeke and Teddy?" I asked diverting the direction of the conversation. I personally didn't care for the nigga either. He wasn't my cup of tea. She grimaced and I couldn't help but laugh. Her hatred for them was real and it was funny how she was treating them.

"Yeah, Teddy won't talking about nothin', but im actually seeing Zeke.later on tonight."

Again, I was a little jealous. Though I was with Chris, I was also territorial over Zeke. I was doing all and everything to make sure he was on my team. Things Chris didn't need to know about.

"Ooh, well give me details later." I told her.

"Of course girl! Well I gotta go. This headache is still kicking my ass." With that, she gave one last hug to the both of us and walked out.

Chris looked to me and smiled devilishly. "Now, where were we?"

I held my hand up to his chest to stop him. He just thought I was going to act like he didn't grab her ass in front of me?

"Naw, fuck that. Not after what you just did." I reached for Michael Kors purse sitting in the chair and walked out of his office, him still calling after me. I was going to entertain that and he knew it. I refused to share anything with her and I wasn't about to start. I knew one thing for sure.

That bitch had to go.
